Crossing the Mersey and up the Ship Canal 1998 style
Painterlady replied to mykaskin's topic in General Boating
I'm pleased with this!!!! It gives us a clue of what we can expect at the end of this month. We have all the paperwork, have notified Peel Ports and the ship canal bods of our intended day of travel etc and even written out the cheque!- 5 replies

Who found the licence plates? Did they take a picture in situ? Did they handle them? Where they so obvious that anyone could see them? Or where they well hidden? Was there anything else with them? Was a search made in the immediate area? Did the person who found them know where to look? I could go on...... -

Dumb as it may seem..... If boat was lifted out of the water and onto a lo loader? Covered in tarp and shipped across the water, either to Ireland or to France? Then maybe with checking the ferry ports is not a bad idea -

Right , using the wonder of modern technology the aerial shot of Bishop Meadow lock showing the non(?) navigable part of the soar that comes in onto your right when leaving Loughborough , is apparently a place that those" tarpaulin" boats go and hide. I am to far from it now as I'm at pillings talking to some fishermen who pointed this out to me. If any one is closer or knows how to get to it safely..... That's the bridge that the midland main line goes over then shout up! They say that some persons have been living under that bridge and as its off the navigation as such can be used by boats..... This may be the type of area to look in It's possible that a boat or boats are up there now. It's going to take me an hour to walk back from here but I will check it out in the morning -
