Happy hunting for your boat 'Slimmyman'. We're in the same boat situation as yourself. That's great advice from RLWP. We've been a 'lurker' too on this forum, and now our time is right to find our boat. For the last 4 weeks we've been up and down the Midlands, and the North looking for that 'perfect' one - think we've viewed about 25ish. We've had an idea what we'd like: semi trad, pump out, good electric specs, pullman... but we've kept our minds open to other possibilities. Boats definitely appear to be cheaper further north. On the first day of looking we found what we thought was our 'dream', and nearly handed over our deposit there and then. But common sense prevailed and thought we'd better get more of an 'eye-in' to what options and value for money there might be. After about 3 days, and viewing some pretty scary boats, we thought we'd take a second look at this 'dream' only to find it had been snapped up. Didn't want this to happen again... We're delighted to say we've now found a fantastic boat that will be hopefully be our home for the next 5+ years. We viewed it on Monday, and it took less than half an hour for us to make up our minds. We've paid over our deposit and are urgently looking for a marina to have the boat winched out of the water for a full survey. Trouble is the marinas appear to be extremely busy presently. We're also hoping to get the boat blackened (if the survey is favourable) while it's out of the water as the boat was last blackened in 2014. Must admit while looking around at boats we were starting to get despondent, some of the pics on the sale brochures of the boats had been taken years ago and hadn't shown the true current condition. Then 'our' boat turned up.... :) Good luck in your search... hope all goes well.
