  6. Here is my scruffy Highbridge Crusader
  7. Mike this boat came up at the right price at the right time but in hindsight i should have waited and bout a derv powered boat but they are far and few between i think my boat is as close to a Narrowboat as possible but without the price tag with it's 6ft+ headroom outside forward seating area etc etc
  8. I agree with everything you are saying yes spillages are frequent trying to juggle with a jerry can also my boat has no charging from the engine or very little oh well my mind is made up i think ;-)
  9. Thanks again all but i think this idea will be put to bed and i had to ask the question
  10. Hi, Thank you for the quick reply wow looking at that lot i think it would be easier to buy a boat with an inboard already fitted i never thought about an extra fuel tank strengtheners buoyancy etc etc doh
  11. Hi All, As the title says i have a 1987 27ft GRP Highbridge Crusader which i love and is powered by an outboard 15hp Parson 4 stroke petrol engine and although the engine performs well i would really prefer to have an inboard diesel engine fitted. Is this a big job as there seems to be plenty of room around the outboard engine area to fit one and it does look doable it does not have to be a big engine as my boat is pretty light. So if anyone knows of anyone willing to do the job and rough cost or has info on how it can be done or advice on how perhaps i can do the job myself it would very much appreciated thanks in advance
  12. Hi yes i would be interested how much do you want for the brochure?
  13. What a lovely well looked after engine it looks immaculate but can i just say the jubilee clip to the far right is not quite level with the one next to it but seriously that is a work of art and a credit to you
  14. Thank you have you a pic please Oops i just replied to my own post there lol
  15. Thanks so i presume there are no Highbridge Crusader owners on here ??
  16. Hi All, I have just bought a 1987 27ft Highbridge Crusader which is being delivered Wednesday i have done many searches for this type of boat and cannot find that many are there any Highbridge owners on here or is there any website that has pictures of this particular boat. I am very interested in what type of different interior layouts other boats of this type have we cannot wait until she is delivered like a pair of kids me and the wife are so in the meantime ANY pics of the Highbridge would really wet our appetite and give us some ideas of what other layouts are like? thanks in advance
  17. Hi All, Can i first say a BIG thanks to everyone with all the offers to help advice and suggestions very much appreciated i have literally 10 mins ago secured some transport to bring the boat back via truck for this Wednesday happy days
  18. Hi All, & Rob, Thank you again for all the advice and suggestions i have contacted several transport companies and one actually contacted me late last night my preference would be to get her back on the back of a truck i am told there is a crane at Stanstead Abbotts Marina and there is a slipway at Fazeley. The boat has not been used for 12 months due to the owners ill health the boat does run having a brand new Parsun 15hp outboard that has done about 10 hours work the only fault known is it has a dicky solenoid but the engine does start. If there were a boat closer to me of the same type i would have bought it for obvious reasons but this one came up and was exactly what we were looking for and there does not seem many types of this boat for sale anywhere? As i keep stressing i have not the time as Rob to do this whole journey with or without an aid and therefore the only options is to get someone to sail her back for me or transport on a truck my going along is NOT an option unfortunately again thank you all keep em coming i will try in the meantime to contact Matty40 and Nigel Carton if this transporter lets me down ???
  19. Thank you for all the suggestions and advice has anyone used Tonytugboats ??
