  1. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 10 posts to view.
  2. Cheers for the advice, not up for paying 100k for a new 1 so I'll have to take my chances
  3. Yeah I have some adsense sites, get far less per visitor than using amazon though.
  4. Well its still basically the same result, they could of sold the boat themselves for 100k rather than use it so the 100k cost is still there whether indirect or not. And understood, I wouldn't expect it to be easy, especially seeing as they're charging £1500 a week lol. Like I said though its for myself and family for a while. Worst case scenario, I use the boat myself and save 3-4k on rent, 3-4k on holidays, spend 3-4k on trying to sort out a hire business and fail. I've still saved 3-4k and had a great time
  5. My main site is ecommerce now, selling vaping/e cigs. But I have other sites that just use amazon affiliate scheme/adsense for 'passive' income, I'm going to sell the main site/business,buy a boat and just do the affiliate sites. Takes some learning and most people fail (as with anything) but theres plenty of different things you can do. Like a lot of the websites with canal boats listed as a example. You could just set up a site, let people advertise for free, write a load of content on canal boats then when you have some traffic companies will pay you to put ads up.
  6. Because it says: You will need a permanent mooring with facilities such as fuel, water, sewage disposal, commercial waste disposal, secure customer parking and a safe place to board the vessel. We may allow you to operate one boat using Canal & River Trust facilities, but we will expect you to have access to third party or your own directly managed services if you want to operate two boats or more. https://canalrivertrust.org.uk/business-and-trade/boating-business/starting-or-expanding-a-boating-business/self-drive-hire honestly though, I didn't really want the conversation to go down this route, as i said I've seen another thread to do with this and people seem to be against the idea which is fine. Just doesn't make much sense to me why hire companies buy a boat for like 100k, sell it 10 years later for 40k and have to buy another for 100k. Not sure how much maintenance older boats require compared to new boats which is mainly what I was interested in.
  7. Yeah I've already seen other threads in regards to this so know it doesn't go down well. But yeah I don't think you need the waste disposal etc with only one boat. Business insurance is only 3-400£ a year, business license only around £1000. Renting it out for 2 weeks will cover the costs of the above. But like I said its for myself and family holidays first anyway
  8. Looking to get a 6 birth boat for 30-40k. I'm going to live on it for atleast 6 months but in the back of mind I'm tempted to rent it out at some point. Just interested in why the hire companies seem to sell them when they're 10-15 year olds?
  9. I don't have a boat yet but internet marketing is what I'll be doing, need decent internet but doubt thats too much trouble
