Much as I would love to pilot the boat myself, being registered blind I don't think other boat owners would be too happy to meet me coming the other way!

Oh I don't know, it could be worse, it could be Tim West comining the other way. Now there's a scary thought:D

  2. As a CCer I can't really see the point of a winter mooring unless you are working and just don't want the hassle of moving all winter. We need to move the boat at least once a week to top up with water and to empty cassettes, these sites have little or no facilities so you need to move the boat to get to the facilities, it's just easier for me to keep cruising if I'm going to be moving the boat weekly anyway.

  3. The problem to charging up electric vehicles is quite obvious when you think about it. What you need is an electric pickup truck with an industrial diesel generator mounted on the back. You would tick all the boxes, able to comply with new electric vehicle laws, able to be charged wherever you park, and capable of doing a 400+mile journey as you can charge whilst travelling.

Can't believe you lot didn't spot that idea earlier.

Yes I vividly recal watching it on live telly and in fact recording it on my reel to reel tape recorder. Very clever cold war marketing being watched by the ussr.

Although the Russians who would have been monitoring very closely have never disputed the fact. And who can dispute all those perfect photos taken on the moons surface by a man in a thick suit with a cumbersome glass domed helmet and using a camera without a viewfinder, truly top draw photography in extreme conditions.

Richard Dimbleby would have been proud of you.

It is quite obvious that pork pies grow on trees, if you take a look at the top of a pie it has a raised pattern where the stork once held it and it has a flat bottom from where it hits the ground whilst still soft. When hanging on the tree they look like brown apples.

Most pies are grown on trees, except of course pasties which grow on a pastie bush. Samosas are of course related to the Cornish pastie but are grown in a mixture of compost and curry powder.

You mean near the pork pie mines

Don't be silly, pork pies aren't mined, they are grown on pork pie trees in pig orchards and are harvested by the locals who ware pork pie hats specially designed as safety hats to deflect falling pies.

Are you tired as a Volocky of helping people to move, day after day? Do you hanker for something different? Do you need a job where you spend your time slowing people down? Perhaps you need to change to being a VoCussy, a volunteer Customs Officer? See the bbc website for more details.

I'm pretty sure this job will only be available to those who have been turned down for jobs as traffic wardens for being overzealous

So why not reduce your rent fifty percent? So why do you own a house? Do you consider it ok for people our ages to have bought property but people of similar ilk now adays shouldn't want to do what you and I did?

My house is in Ruislip in west London and is therefore rented out for a stupidly high sum. I could rent it out 50% cheaper but it was marketed at the going rate. My tenant has a choice, pay the going rate or live in a cheaper area; the same choice I had when I bought the house. If I had bought a house for half of what I paid for this one then I would expect to only get half the amount from renting it, and no doubt a bigger commute if I wanted to work in west London. As the saying goes "you get what you pay for"
