I knit a lot - rarely actually finish anything due to having the attention span of a gnat! I have half finished stuff and single socks everywhere. ML

I do have a bi directional external aerial and wifi repeater which I hope might mean I can bounce the msrina wifi down to the boats at my end. Otherwise I will try and use it to pick up a bt hotspot I hear rumoyrs of. If that doesn't work maybe EE mobile broadband?

It has been pointed out.... largely by my kids.... that I need to get a life. To be fair this has been generally in the context of my fabulous joke telling to their friends, but they do have a point. So....as a teeny weeny first step.....I thought I would look here. Bit confused though. Are the banters private parties or open to anyone? Are there any in the avon/severn areas? Hello all Well the gentleman at Tewkesbury schmoozed me sufficiently that I never made it to Saul but have stopped at the end of the Avon. Overall impressions are if a nice marina with decent facilities and near the town, however the internet access is bloody awful and I am still trying to work out the best method of getting online (which will end up costing...). Still trying to get any kind of social life going so if anyone is nearby and fancies a drink let me know! ML

Thank you all... I have spoken to the lock keeper at Upper Lode and Gloucester and have changed my plans as bit so I can go on Friday with a friend (means using a day's holiday though). I'm looking at my beautiful mooring here out in the wilds and wishing I could stay. It's heartbreaking to move but I can't face another winter of floods on the avon and it will be nice to have some other boaters around.

I was offline half the time as my sat dish disappeared under water! Also been working in london and could face moving her back there plus the silly mooring fees. Work moving to bristol now though and I've never done the Sharpness so I thought I'd give it a go. ML

Hi I will be moving single handed from Strensham to Saul Junction marina on saturday in my battered old 50' narrowboat. I'm pretty nervous about this......not had good lucknon the Severn before. Any advice? jo
