  1. Thanks Leo. Do you have a link to KK's video. I can't seem to find a member with that username. Thanks
  2. Thank you Leo. That's really useful. Hopefully we'll have it running soon. Do you know if this little plate on top of the catalyst is necessary?
  3. https://canalworld.net/forums/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=13176 we don't have any markings left on the regulator but asked the previous owner. Hopefully the above link works to the instruction manual. If not, you can access via this thread-
  4. We have worked out that the settings for the oil regulator are- off is the position shown in your photo, pointing to bottom right. Turn the knob anti-clockwise to turn on. The flow rate increases the further you turn anti clockwise.
  5. Hello, we have the same boiler I think, and also haven't got it running yet. I do have instructions though. Link below... https://cwdf.s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/cwdf/content/monthly_2017_09/59afb37ca23d6_ESserieskabolamanual_doc.4bf044b935a2136fda452b8dbd01ce6b?X-Amz-Algorithm=AWS4-HMAC-SHA256&X-Amz-Content-Sha256=UNSIGNED-PAYLOAD&X-Amz-Credential=AKIAJCFZ47VHBP6QG3PA/20171104/eu-west-1/s3/aws4_request&X-Amz-Date=20171104T072735Z&X-Amz-Expires=1200&X-Amz-SignedHeaders=host&response-content-disposition=attachment; filename*=UTF-8''59afb37ca23d6_ESserieskabolamanual.doc&X-Amz-Signature=86291a908fb43c4a410b8d1de171cede21f7cb595e3c1ebe8c47b0016fde01fe
  6. Hello, we have an old Kabola, the E7 model, on our boat. We have yet to get it running. We know that the diesel is reaching the regulator fine and the boiler lights but it burns out very quickly, after a few minutes. When I look at the parts inside the boiler and compare with the photos in the instruction manual, it looks like there might be parts missing. Can anyone with experience of using one of these boilers advise? photos below comparing our boiler with the pictures in the manual. Many thanks
  7. Thank you so much Alan. That is so useful. Much appreciated! Our boat is a 1925 Dutch mussel boat. jo
  8. Good morning, I am looking for information about the Kabola that's installed on my boat. I believe it is functional but we have yet to try and fire it up. Any information at all regarding this type of system would be appreciated. Thanks
  9. Hello, I was wondering if anyone has had experience of securing finance on an old boat (potentially 100 years old). We have a large deposit which may or may not help. Thanks
  10. http://www.sunstore.co.uk/12v-Victron-Battery-Charger-7amp-10amp-15amp.html I can't see anything about an AGM setting for this. Would it be appropriate? Thanks
  11. Hi, I have recently moved from the towpath into a marina. Now that I have shore power I'd like to get a battery charger so the batteries are permanently topped up through the winter as my lights and pumps are all 12v. I have two AGM leisure batteries with a combined total of 400amp hours and one starter battery. I don't want to spend a fortune but want something with a good reputation- reliable and long lasting. Any advice appreciated. Thanks Jo
  12. It has started! Thanks so much for your help!
  13. Thanks Mike. Just to confirm, in the picture below are the diners pointing to the fuel pipe nuts? Thanks *fingers
  14. Hello, My Canaline 38 unexpectedly cut out last week. Through following instructions of a competent mechanic we filled up the tank with diesel, drained water out of both fuel filters, changed two fuel filters, pulled through fuel the diesel until there was zero water content and then tried to start the engine. It's turning over but not starting. Any thoughts? Thank you Jo
  15. Thanks. So is it an established method of stealing diesel- to add water to the tank?
  16. I have a problem which i can't solve. Maybe someone can shed some light.... I filled my tank with diesel a few weeks ago and have not used much fuel since then. A couple of weeks ago I came back to the boat to find a 20l can with a tiny bit of red diesel in the bottom, on the roof of my boat. The can wasn't mine and I thought it was strange but I didn't follow it up in any way. I had my engine running just now and it started chugging and then cut out. (It's a year old only). I wonder if someone stole my diesel but when I measure the level it says 25 gallons are in the tank. Would potential fuel thieves have added water to the tank? Or is it more likely to be a filter issue? Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks
  17. Thanks all for your advice. This is very useful.
  18. Hello, Looking for some window advice. One of the windows in my narrowboat was broken. I've attached a photo of the unbroken matching window. I've had two glaziers come to the boat, both of whom said they could do the job but neither of whom have got back to me after messaging and phoning to chase it up. It's clearly not an attractive job. The problem is that the screws holding the frame in place are old and some have no longer got a clear thread so I don't think I can unscrew the frame and take it into a glass fitting shop which is probably the simplest way to get it done. How can I best go about getting this glass replaced? Thanks, Jo
  19. Hi, hoping someone can advise. My 12v is wired in with 12mm cable. Recently turned it on for the first time since it was put it. When the engine is running or the sun is shining directly on the solar panel, it runs. Now the sun is going down the red light is flashing indicating a voltage drop. I've measure the voltage and it is 11.9 whereas the batteries read 12.9. The question is, instead of taking the cable out and replacing it with thicker cable, can I double up and run another 6mm piece of cable alongside? Thanks, Jo
  20. Hello, I am currently plumbing in a sink but the pipe that I need to connect to is not a type I have used before and I'm unsure what type of fittings to use. In the past I've used speed fit but that has been with more rigid white pipe. This is flexible and grey in colour. I've attached photos below. I am connecting to hot and cold taps so have also attached a photo of the tap tails. Can I use standard push fit or speed fit fittings with this type of pipe or do i need to use a different type? Thanks, Jo
  21. Thanks everyone for your advice. I feel in a much better position to get my fridge working now. Much appreciated. Jo
  22. Thanks Woodstock. My batteries are relatively new so will look into thicker cable.
  23. The fridge seems to work perfectly when the engine is running however once the engine is switched off it goes back to intermittently trying to power up. I am thinking this means I need thicker cable? Thanks
