Need to remove and then re seal windows in my nb. I intend to use a tape instead of mastic and Arboseal has been recommended, but I don’t know which to use. On their website there are butyl tape and gz tape. I have looked on the Wesley Windows site and they sell a tape, anyone used that? http://www.wesleywindows.co.uk/store/window-spare-parts/arboseal.html bit I can’t find this on the Arboseal website.
Advice please, thanks

5)
On every vessel to which this Direction applies, at all times when underway or at anchor there must be:
a) an operational VHF radio capable of communicating with a Harbourmaster at the VTS Centres;
an effective, continuous listening watch maintained on the VHF channel appropriate to that part of the Thames in which it is navigating or lying;
c) compliance with the communications requirements set out in these Directions for the use of VHF radio; and
d) manning and operation of the VHF radio by a suitably qualified person, capable of communicating effectively in English.

Nothing about going on a course, being licensed etc, thanks

Ok....bit confused re the radio issue. Do I need to go on a course and get a licence before I can get onto the tidal Thames.have been on many tidal sections of other rivers and used my handheld without any questions or issues. A yes or no reply would be appreciated.

Great, all replies much appreciated

You will need a VHF radio and someone licensed to use it on the Limehouse to Brentford tideway section
Worth checking out the St Pancras Cruising Club web site as they often organise tideway cruises around that time of the year
As others have said there are bookable moorings at Little Venice, best book early, there is also bookable overnight moorings at the London Canal Museum at Kings Cross. Otherwise mooring between Little Venice and Limehouse is very much pot luck as is the Lower River Lea.
Limehouse Visitor moorings are 24 hour but BWML are doing there best to reduce the number of them and to make it difficult to moor
If you have the time do the newly reopened Bow Back River loops, the locks at City Mill and Carpenters Road need pre-booking.
Also if you have the time do the Rivers Lea and Stort, the Stort is particularly pretty.

Find a slot when you can go out of Limehouse at 5-6am, you will have a wonderful cruise up through all the best bits without having any large ferry and much other shipping movements happening.
Book a slot at Rembrandt Gardens(Little Venice) very early in the year , then spend half a day getting to Limehouse and moor up for an overnight ready. Have a look at boats going out and how the lock works.
Lovely experience.
Useful, thanks

It could be to do with what is going on inside the Morse control.

Am sure you are right, is there a way of adjusting the forward motion but not the reverse?
-
Have a prm 120 gear box mechanical. The gear box engages well and early in both forward and reverse. In reverse as soon as I pull the lever backwards the revs increase and it's very responsive. However when pushing the lever forward, the gearbox engages early at 800 rev and as soon as the lever is pushed forward. However, as I continue to push the lever the accelerator cable does not move until I have pushed the lever forward about 30 degrees consequently there is a dead spot during that 30 degrees. Adjusting the cable at the engine effects both forward and reverse and so is not the answer. Is there a way to make an adjustment at the lever so it effects just when I push the lever forward?

Getting complicated for me, if I simply turn on all the taps and drain. Then close the tap between the main tank and the pump. I want to take the pump away for the winter. Is there any danger of the water still in the calorifier siphoning out of the pipe which would go into the pump?

or even turning the Taps on - no it won't. Not a lot of point turning the cold tap on - unless you want to drain the main water tank as well - and that you probably would want to do anyway.
Good luck with draining the calorifier as I suspect you may not have a drain cock - lots of boats don't....
So how do u drain if not bottom outlet?
-
Getting to that time of the year, how do I totally drain the calorifier? If I simply turned all the raps on would that do it?

Sailing nb from Trent lock towards Loughborough, is there anywhere before Loughborough to moor, the map shows two pubs, the Otter and Rose and Crown. Any good and can I moor? Would like to not moor in Loughborough if possible.

It's probably long life antifreeze. All the antifreezes are based on ethylene glycol but the anti-corrosive agents in ordinary (blue) and long life (pink) are not compatible. That said, there is no absolute certainty that the colour reflects whether it's long life or not, hence my "probably". The "perfect solution" would be to drain the lot and start again with known stuff, but if you want to take the risk then you can use http://www.halfords.com/motoring/engine-oils-fluids/antifreeze/halfords-oat-antifreeze-concentrate-5-litres
That's really useful, thanks

The current anti freeze in my central heating is pink in colour. Have been told not to mix differing sorts, i.e. Blue with pink. Can anyone tell me what type the pink wil be as need to top up. Called into Midland Chandlers and they only sell the blue type for engines. Also Halfords cannot help.

Either that or mounts. Check the small bolts that secure the mount to the bed as well as the large nuts.
I suppose it just might be a valve clearance thing so check those a swell to be sure.
Mounts no problem but valve clearance beyond me

Sticking injector needle - any sign of exhaust smoke when it does this?
Hi Tony, good to hear from you. No sign of any smoke. Do you think it could be a fuel issue?

On our Isuzu 33 it is on the side of the rocker cover next to the header tank.
It looks ok, is there any cleaning of the air intake to do?

Will check the mounts again and come back, there isn't an air filter.
Ok, tested mounts again by putting large screwdriver underneath each and lifting, also checked bottom nuts, seem ok. Also no deposits around rubber mounts. Not sure where air intake is
