Can you put a link to the YouTube piece please
Hi Richard, hope you are both well.
Which video do you need a link to.
Barrow sinking or pillings.

I saw your comments on the YouTube thread Rick, sad news, the whole pontoon ripped away at 3am!
If climate change keeps things getting worse, you will need a penny farthing on the towpaths soon
Scary, it was over the towpath here at Harris in syston about a foot deep, my poor labrador was almost swimming .

There's a second one sunk on the soar. Looks like it is just up from the bridge. It's a widebeam moored to the bank https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=752048560285340&set=a.463931852430347
Yes, near pillings lock.

More to come yet!!
...but you are a underwater towpath cycling expert so know how to deal with the Soar.
Absolutely, years of practice.🙂

It's been interesting on our bit of the Soar this week, that's for sure.

Brown trousers for sure.

Which doesn't mean it isn't priced correctly. Perhaps the seller is in no great hurry, or looking for the right buyer. Perhaps it's better to overprice it and bring it down than to underprice it and sell it quickly.
It can't be too far out, or the OP wouldn't be interested. QED innit. 😂
You are probably correct, time will tell, it does look a nice boat in all fairness.

What price do you think it should be?
I have no idea, but sensibly priced boats don't stay up for sale very long.

I'd say it just means it is over-priced.
Agree, boats priced correctly don't hang around for long.

Yes to be fair when I say “Leicester is a shithole” I mean Leicester by water, not the entire city.
Can't disagree with that, we are always glad to be south of the mile straight.

Yes of course one can moor at castle garden moorings (often full) or even the new facility (didnt know it existed). Plague, death and destruction are unlikely. But everything is relative, and relative to the rest of the route, Leicester is a shit hole. Lots of rubbish (mostly clothing) to get round the prop and stinking black sludge on the bottom.
As a native of Leicester, the city itself is fine with good shops, bars and restaurants, but have to agree about the rubbish in the water, the section between the national space centre and frog Island is pretty grim to be fair.

Always had good service from Bimble solar, 4 panels, controller , cable and connectors delivered promptly and intact at a great price.

Yes, good idea. My box base is cut to the roof's camber, isn't too high, and usually the panels act as a nice fairing. But I painted the roof in the late summer, so raised it up a couple of inches - from rail to rail - on those planks you see in the photo to protect the paint. I discovered it was nice to have our alu-gang-plank layed alongside the solar box bungeed onto those planks ... and then found it was handy to lay our various poles on the gang-plank (under the bungees) when not in use.
Anyway, the whole lot is what blew over the side.
I guess I'm glad it blew onto the shore, rather than into the canal.
My brackets are fitted to the centre point both sides of each panel, had to put them there due to the curve of the roof, the downside is there is a slight rocking of the panels when it is excessively windy so didn't want to risk it.

my 4 panels are attached with brackets but I still put a rope over each one and tied them down.

The double deckers will not be running tommorow if the transport manager has any sense.
Flooding - "Arrival of #StormEunice overnight on Thurs has potential to cause severe flooding with overtopping of defences, very strong winds & high waves. There is potential for record water levels along the Severn & Wye estuary." @EnvAgencySW
Flood warnings and alerts out now."Storm Eunice is expected to bring severe gale force winds across the Bristol Channel early on Friday, coinciding with low spring tides. We are expecting this to cause very large and powerful waves along the coast."
I believe ours will run unless a red warning is issued.

If that sting jet materialises then the damage will be massive, let's not forget, this is all going to be happening during the working day, very scary indeed.

I thought the idea was for the flue to pass through the collar without touching it? For example a four inch flue passing through a 5 inch ID collar, then the gap is filled with rope and silicon?
That is how I did it, the flue doesn't touch the collar until it exits the boat, the gap is filled with fire rope, as I said the collar stays cold regardless of how hot the flue gets.

my engine is currently running as 680w of solar in full sun is currently supplying just over 1amp.

Immediate side effects are known and not giving cause for concern. Longer term? They can't possibly know but the longer term side effects of covid aren't very pleasant so you decide for yourself.
The reason mRNA vaccines haven't been licensed is because they are a new technology, no-one knows enough about them to say with any certainty that they are safe; however, there is a global pandemic in progress and the consequences of letting that continue unabated are quite severe.
As for masks; do you have any evidence that they don't work or is that something else you found out from WhatsApp?
you were doing quite well until the last comment, I will treat that with the contempt it deserves.
