    We have met 5 in two and a half years and all have been very friendly. But I do wonder what would happen if some of the more vocal members on here were to meet up . Also there are several on here with boats that don't state a boat name for what ever reason. How about we all wear a badge that says cwdf member ...lol.

    Agree with that , Apart from when you are the only boat moored in the middle of a long straight . Then springs are advisable .

    Do you not think there is a big difference between the broads and the canals. i.e. width of navigation and depth which have a massive effect on what happens when a boat speeds past a moored boat .

    If only every mooring was like that one , then there wouldn't be a problem !!!

    Just a thought , But shouldn't CaRT have a duty of care to protect their license paying boaters .. Maybe having private security firms to patrol dodgy locations.

    I believe they were left unattended , but for how long I don't know.

    I thought it had something to do with paying council tax, but as there are allocated moorings I don't understand it ...

    Totally agree about in the wrong place. Most of them are a long way from any services and even anywhere to park a car. It's just not worth the money . It is in fact cheaper to go into some marinas where you would have all facilities .

    This surely has to be the last year of Winter moorings . From what we have seen the take up has been so poor due to the increase in the price on previous years that it just can't be profitable. I would have thought even the signs cost more than the revenue received ..

    There was also boats broken into at Wheaton Aston by Turners Garage at the weekend .It seems they stole several kettles amongst other things ..

    Most of them seem to only have one or two boats on them, so plenty of room left .

    We are obviously based nowhere as We are Ccrs .. Its a shame that that you don't understand how we feel and I can assure you it has nothing to do with our self-esteem. But it is a fact that we are looked down on. . Next year we intend to cruise up North so lets just hope they are nicer and more understanding as you say they are. ps.Totally agree about the pump out toilet and rivets...
