You can remove rust by electrolysis using a battery charger a plastic tank water and baking soda
look it up to get the mix of water and baking soda right

I know there have been a few threads on the subject in recent years but this was a recent one that came up in a search.
When people talk about buffalo board, are they just using the term generically to cover phenolic ply in general or is Buffalo a particular brand that implies quality?
Is there any brand or manufacturer that people would recommend for a good quality board that will resist the elements? Yes, I know that any cut edges have to be treated.
Is phenolic ply all much of a muchness or should one avoid unknown brands? I was going to buy some of this from ebay but I've no idea whether it will be any good or not.
Phenolic Plywood Russian Birch Plywood Rhino Mesh Anti-Slip - All Sheet Sizes | eBay
That’s the good stuff birch ply is about as good as it gets it has many layers not like Malaysian ply with only a small amount

Could this have anything to do with Beverly as there is a tavern called the Humber keel there and not far from Kingston upon Hull

we are booked for last week in June /July

Putting sealer is ok to put a barrier between the aluminium and the steel where I work we put plastic like a carrier bag type plastic as a barrier

You will be fine with just a nut on the bolt a lock nut is better then just a nut

Yes but is it worth the chance ? I think not myself buy the proper disc and be safe
Graham

We use a jig saw and wd40 sprayed on the blade as you cut the aluminium
You can buy disks for cutting aluminium that fit mini grinders you should not use steel cutting disc’s the aluminium clogs the discs
the same as you would never grind brass /copper etc

I work on buses and the entrance doors both work together on some buses they have a rod mechanism and cams and on others they use toothed pulleys and belts like a cam belt both types use a air ram to open and close the doors

Hi all in my job I repair accident damage buses and coaches so do a lot using aluminium sections
If the bolts are only going through 3mm aluminium there is a good chance the bolt will pull though if using the box I my self would put a piece of hard wood in the box and bolt right though the box and wood
as far as I can see it would be easier to use the angle and repair washers on the bolts

Hi all
If we use a freesat on a narrow boat will the dish need to be on the bank or will it work on the boat .
I was going to take one on holiday and was thinking if I needed to make a stand or a bracket to fit it on the roof
thankyou for any info

Any updates I’m curious on this one

Just plug the camera in and leave it if the battery goes flat so what
or stop on the boat one night no lights on and see what happens ?

Just as a try put some string though the hole in the key and tie the switch on keep a sharp knife next the it in case you want the switch off fast

Here is my Columbo in me when your on your boat other boaters go by slower then when your not on the boat .
The master switch is worn out and when the boats go past fast it bangs your boat on the bank and the switch clicks off
Or there is a dodgy wire connection that is shorting out the master switch this is only a guess
Graham
By the way I work on buses and some very weird things happen to wiring if the bus is not used for a few days

It could be a burnt damaged valve if the engine timing is out you will be able to see when you remove the head I would never reuse a head gasket for what they cost

When you say it needs 2lts are you filling the header tank full if so it will be blowing water out as the water expands making you think it’s short of water next time you check the tank
