  1. Accs from Companies House (public domain) for 2012 and I'll sort the 2011 asap but have clients to see most of today unfortunately apologies images not loading will try again
  2. The PLM apartment is actually above the office and café bar and was Paul's parents home before they were forced out
  3. Sorry I don't know who they were payable to. Again IIRC the moorers were told that those who spent a certain amount of time on the boat were classed as high users and had to pay, I think, £1 per day extra to cover the extra cost of providing for residents, eg extra cost of cesspit emptying etc.
  4. I don't think there would have been different leases. IIRC there was no residential status officially available when I started to moor there. A few moorers started spending a lot of time on their boats and then a houseboat appeared. The residential fees came in a couple of years after the marina started.
  5. I have been informed that many leaseholders used a firm of solicitors in Loughborough recommended by Paul Lillie
  6. I think the words "salt" and "wounds" come to mind.....not helpful The leaseholders took advantage of an offer that gave them a good financial return regarding their moorings. If the jack-ass that owns the place wasn't such a con artist and paid the fees and bills he should there wouldn't be a problem. It's not the leaseholders, or moorers, or CRT's fault, it is all down to Paul Lillie.
  7. It is from Companies House - I just need to load and share it but it will be tomorrow before I can get round to doing it.
  8. I have a copy of the last account sheet for QMP up to 30/6/2012 in pdf form if I can post it.
  9. These links may work http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Help_desk/Archives/2013_October_23 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Pillingslock
  10. The meaning of malicious is - hateful, spiteful, malevolent, mean, nasty, cruel, wicked. Looking back I cannot see any posts where you have used any words falling into these categories. Had it been me, however, I would have said that he is an egotistical, supercilious, condescending, arrogant, rude, bad mannered, disrespectful individual, who likes nothing better than provoking and irritating people and inflaming the situation until it gets out of hand and then calling the police and making a complaint. He is a grown man in the business world for heaven’s sake, not a little boy in nursery crying “please miss, they’re being horrible to me”. All I can say is GROW UP AND MAN UP, AND STOP BEING SUCH A WIMP I sincerely hope that he is not using a serving police officer to find information. Even though Roy is embroiled in all of this his father can’t be that silly as to jeopardise his job. I know I’ll be banned and the post removed by the mods, but you know what, it’s worth it!!! So goodbye all, it’s been a blast!!!
  11. Well, it is half-term and obviously his holiday with his life partner, who is a school teacher, is much more important than attending to the interests of his customers
  12. Mmmmmm, maybe a FOI request is in order by those who have paid community charge.
  13. What about the service and workshop building as there is a separate company in there now?
  14. I agree that some moorers will hardly ever take their boats out - when I moored at Pillings there were a number of boats that never moved, for whatever reason. I just think that because of the serious nature of the situation the moorers should never now believe a word they are told by the management until they see the results for themselves. If you are told it has been sorted, ask how and when, and if they won't tell you start listening to those alarm bells.
  15. For heaven's sake, do some of the moorers at Pillings still believe in Santa Claus and the tooth faerie as well??? And I can make an educated guess to the identity of the staff member
  16. I'm sure they are very good in the workshop, that wasn't my point. Maybe I didn't put it clearly, but if the workshop is a separate company the PL cannot class their workers on his wages bill
  17. 35 employees? I personally find this difficult to believe. Maybe 20 at a push, maybe the rest are "shadow workers". The company running the boat service workshop are, I believe, a separate company so their employees would not be on PLM books. And that leads to another point, I think I read somewhere in the terms of the planning permission that the marina had to control all commercial enterprise on the site, no outsiders allowed. will check wording when I get the chance
  18. The episode was based on the murder of Christina Collins at Brindley Bank, Rugeley on the T&M in 1839. Two boatmen were hanged the following year in Stafford.
  19. So would this mean that, should heaven forbid the marina does not carry on, the leaseholders would have a hold over the Steadmans regarding whatever development they may want to do in the future.
  20. But then, if the access is blocked by CRT and moorers refuse to pay their mooring fees how is PL going to throw them off the marina? Reminds me of the film Passport to Pimlico
  21. True. I know the post will probably be removed I'll be banned but sometimes you just have to say it as it is. As someone who was in at the start of this venture I can fully understand the animosity shown by John towards his son. He invested everything he had, including his house, into this venture and he and his wife worked hard to make it happen. Carol worked so hard in the office, and the café bar, and cleaned the loos to make sure things were right for the moorers. I'm sure John won't mind me saying but, yes he can blow up and tell you how he sees things, but at least he is man enough to realise when he is wrong, seek you out and apologise. And I respect him for that a hell of a lot more than his milksop of a son, who winds boaters up with his attitude and snide, sarcastic remarks and when they have a go at him he calls the police. I know who has the cojones in the family and it a'int PL. I have SEEN and I have HEARD a lot of the things that went on at this marina. I was in the office one day when PL was being exceedingly rude to a moorer and quite frankly, had he been talking to me, I would have put him in the water. But I agree the thread has gone off topic and I won't put anything else about it. I should be seeing friends over the weekend so may find out more what the situation is.
  22. Totally agree. I've followed this thread and added what I thought may be useful information (and my opinion on PLM and the management) because, as an ex-moorer who still has a number of friends caught up in the fiasco, I would like to know what the situation is. But the last couple of pages has just been personal remarks. Don't know about you, but I think there's enough conflict and hassle in every day life without coming on to a forum that should be supporting boaters and finding more.
  23. Another bone of contention, factors of which the CRT will have to address, is the marina situation. A British Marine Federation (BMF) survey of Midland marina berths, showed a 20.6% vacancy rate in CRT marinas. Industry estimates quote 2,000 available marina moorings and - with the current slowdown in boatbuilding – only a chance of filling a few. Meanwhile a new marina opened at Cropredy in September. There are ongoing wrangles in progress about proposals at Daventry and Swindon (Staffordshire) and other plans for no less than two sites at Wrenbury on the already busy Llangollen Canal and one, based on gravel extraction, at Alrewas, plus others. Perhaps the court case in which the CRT is trying to recover access fees from Pillings Lock Marina, which to an extent revolves around viability, will dispel waterside land owners’ ideas that marinas are a licence to print money? - See more at: http://www.boatingbusiness.com/news101/inland-waterways/2014-will-be-a-year-of-celebrations#sthash.9mhBeFiT.dpuf
  24. Quote Am I reading this right - marina operator Tim Coghlan - take it it's the MD of Braunston commenting on the situation only
