I seem to have the same problem , How difficult is it to fit a new top plate ? mine is a morso squirrel !

Hi all ! am new to the forum so nice to meet you all . Just like to pick a few brains , I am due a boat safety check at the end of Jan and I have a piece come off the corner of the top of my stove . Obviously the top plate holds the thing together so the side underneath is widening ,Have been looking at the sites for a new top plate but if I get one would fixing it be as simple as it looks ? In my experience cast iron is pretty unforgiving !
