There not die cast. Just normal cast aluminium tig weld with pure argon and use a stainless wire brush and use a proper aluminium grinding wheel. And it will weld easy.
-
Well it’s up to the welder to grind out all the crap, trouble is 90% of them haven’t a clue.

Would look better without pram and cratch covers and solar panal, just as it should, but can see why the owners have put on for the extra under cover space.
I’m not interested in looks. Just can’t see the point of getting wet and cold

What a lovely boat,, Was this boat once at Peterborough yacht club?
It was. I gave 3500 for it about 6 years ago it was 22 ft. A nice trailer boat

No it was 316. There’s a locked gate at each end of moorings,so Itl not be any passing tealeaf
Well I recon there’s more chance of it being somewhere on the Trent ,than in Asda or mc donnolds car park.

Well if they asked I’d have made them one

I’ve done all that on a water bug. A bit different I know ,but I fitted z drive first with bellows well out the water and cavitation plate 30 MM under then fitted engine to suit. I fitted z drive transom plate in with a 3 deg angle on to allow for touque steer. It reverses and steers perfect. And them little 3 cyl diesels only sip fuel. I couldn’t keep up with petrol when it had a 20 hp mercury outboard on

I’ve a good 16 hp 3 cyclinder diesel with a adaptor to fit your leg

Yes it struck up as soon as I switched it on, I’ve put a bit more lagging on the tank ,turned it off at 10 pm last night and it was Luke warm this morning at 9 ,well happy at £75 for it and £40 for a gas test ,found a leak on the hob and grill while we were at it

A bit late to ask this but once a good guard is fitted are you going to be OK in locks
Well the gunnels are wider. ,by the time a guards on ,the old tires as fenders will still be protruding more,Itl be no worse than having a Tupperware ,and it’s on the steering wheel side, everything I’ve done on it is unconventional,it must be the only extended water bug ,with a inboard diesel and a z drive, but it’s worked ok for a few years

Maybe not , but I like the old Stephenson’s rocket look ,and it just lifts out
-
Thanks I’ll have a check up, going to all the trouble of fitting it ,I need it done right ,or I may as well have left the old poloma in
-
LPG. Didn’t know it made any difference if it was fitted in a boat or a aeroplane ,the attachments will be just the same, I’m sure the bss man will let me know if he’s not happy

Gas welding it is easy enough. Now you will need a lot bigger nozzle than you think. A no10 for that casting Get some proper ally gas welding flux and some 3.25 4043 rods and your away. I used to weld aluminium irrigation pipes 1.5 mm thick with gas prior to tig and you even needed a no5 for them
