I cycled from Manc to Lonon in July. I encountered many dogs and only had an issue with one, fortunately, I was traveling relatively slowly at the time. Everyone, no matter how they are traveling needs to respect other users, it also helps to be gracious to the idiots that we all encounter. I was very greatful to a boater who made me a brew at Fradley Junction after a particularly tough day and many others I met along the way. Speaking as a biker who has a few selfish people riding off roaders round my estate dispite the potential dangers to young children etc. I think motorbiks need to be kept well away from the towpath.

Hi Smithy, I'm planning an initial 38 miles stopping at Congleton then around 50ish a day there after. I saw a good site called 'water explorer' which helped plan the route. As far as I've discovered you can navigate the whole way. When are u planning on doing it?

Hi All, I just joined the group today. I'm planning a cycling trip to London on tow paths and just wondered if anyone had any words of widom? I'll be using a hi-bred bike and plan to camp along the way. Is camping just off the path the done thing? I've got 2 official sites i plan to use but am struggling to find something near Congleton. Any advice greatfully received
