hi we had a pump out a few days ago but the machine broke down and we never got flushed... we do not add anything to the tank, as for the discharge tube...will have to investigate as not sure about that one! cheers

Hi all looking to pick your boaty brains again!!! Our toilet has begun to let out a smell only after the flush, we have a macerator type toilet... this has not happened before, we only got the boat from new in Feb but now every time someone flushes we get a smell drifting around the boat....not a nice smell obviously, then it disappears until next flush. Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening? And what we could do to fix it? Thank you

Hi again so we started with satellite Tv which is ok but not brill cos cant get many channels then we got Nikkai digi outdoor aerial ....installed it and it worked really well, loads of channels FAB anyway we moved out of the area, as you do, and we lost the channels so we reverted back to satellite however we now cannot get the digi channels back at all, tested all the bits and pieces for faults etc and cant seem to get the bloody thing working again any ideas anyone?? cheers

Hi all we have spotted a few ants the last couple of days.....not overly worried but is there a way to repel the ants from climbing aboard when theyre not welcome?

Thanks everyone for the replies, some of which were highly amusing I will definitely be getting a water filter, and Im glad it was not down to my imagination, it really does taste and smell funny sometimes...!

Hi Does any body think the water tastes funny sometimes from different taps or is it my imagination? We have a new boat so hoping it wouldn't be the water tank causing the problem....

Hi we have a Webasto water heater, just found out! we tend to wake up every morning with nil power....but we do leave phones charging over night. nothing else though, so we are thinking to put the engine on for a bit longer during the day... see how it goes??? thanks for all help really appreciate it

Hi we have a Honda 2.6 generator, apparently the water heats up from the engine ok, but the generator does not warm it as much. I think we are getting less hot water now than before but I have no idea why that might be. Is it anything to do with the battery? Our engine is possibly cooled with canal water but I need to check that for sure..... When we connect to a shoreline the ampage is set to 16 we were told that when we bought a 2 KW generator to set the ampage to 8 . now we have a 2.6 KW generator we turned up the amps to 9.5....is this right or should we go higher on the amps?? thanks

Hi all I wonder if anyone knows why we seem to have a shortage of hot water on our narrow boat at the minute. The engine seems to create some hot water but if we run the generator we seem to get less that way Im not sure how the whole thing works im sure there is someone much more knowledgeable than me around who can help many thanks

My advice is dont worry about it until someone specifically asks you about....which as you dont have an address is probably going to be highly unlikely!
