  2. Thanks blackrose (and Mrsmelly), Thats pretty much what the builder said, standard was 20mm and for a bit extra we are going to have 40mm, so flush with the baton or there abouts. I figure that this is the only time to do this part so worth a little extra to make her as efficient as possible. Now, back to the stove,, I saw another thread on here today about stoves-R-us doing a great deal on a Morso Squirrel, so going to check that out. With regards to the output of stoves, do you do the calculation on the whole internal size of the boat, or just the living area? Thanks all & many many more questions (probqably some silly) to come!
  3. I think their standard spec is a minimum of 15mm!, have just called them to ask about 50mm and told them we want to see it after it has been insulated so we can measure it. Hopefully that will do the job
  4. Gulp!.. Thanks for the headsup Tim, did you mention it to them? And any other observations/worries? Cheers!
  5. Hi Richard, I am (thanks) saw this sheet which I thought was a really good start: My link Have been looking at the Morso & Aarrow ones which we like the look of, and going by the comments on here, they seem to be the favourites.. Unless you/anyone has any other recommendations? Thanks again, Toby.
  6. Hello All, Fairly new to this forum but am already glued to it for hours on end! We have a wide-beam on order from Collingwood Boats which we are (hopefully) taking delivery of in the next couple of weeks ... We are getting it as a Sailaway Lined with additions, and obviously want to add a stove (especially after reading previous posts about diesel heating!). I have seen Aarow / Becton? and Morso as the favoured makes and was wondering what makes them so good, compared to a cheaper alternative. I get the impression that stoves are something not to scrimp on so want to get this right and would like to get advice / tips on the right one for our boat (which is a 65x11). Thanks in advance, Toby.
  7. Hi all, Im planning on one of these on our boat: My link It has a narrow top so less slopping about! Also the filter is outside the tank, so probably easier / safer for converting (though I haven't checked the voltage yet) Toby.
  8. Hi loubyscooby, How did it go? We have a boat on order from Collingwood so would welcome any recommendation's / suggestions... I have a couple of questions for you: Did you use a surveyor (and who if so)? Did you have it shot blasted prior to painting? Thanks,
