Hi all
Am looking at some boats as a live-aboard. One I like the size and internal layout but the exterior is very 'weathered' looking.
I don't want to dismiss a good boat on what could be superficial cosmetic looks but also dont want a big problem in store later on.
boat was a broads cruiser originally from nineteen seventy something
At some point the deck upwards has been painted with something and its all flaking off and brittle , what would be needed doing to it? can one strip paint off to the original gel coat or would I need to paint over it and with what?
Also the chimney has at some point leaked coal tar down it and over the cabin area, looks like a giant unsightly rust streak. can this be painted over? - and with what and how? would it have damaged the fibreglass in any way?
Thanks
Gav
