  1. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 10 posts to view.
  2. We have booked for a week to do the Calden Canal I have heard there is development going on at the Stoke end Will this affect us? Also any hints on the canal, pubs & sites of interest appreciated
  3. Thanks for the replies As I said, I don't want to hurt the little darlings, just identify them, & perhaps get the into a bit of bother at home. The only reason for the paint gun was a means of delivery of the pain balls, but it doesn't seem I can justify either of them on board I rather like the idea of the super water pistol. I can justify that on board as 'adult' fun I assume it can be filled with anything, maybe the Elsan (we only use it for liquids) before I put the blue in Again many thanks for the sensible advice (& the fun ones!)
  4. Can anyone help please I have been offered 2 paint guns (the sort used by war games etc). Does anyone know if they are legal? I would use them to identify bandits attacking my boat. I do not want to hurt the little darlings I went to my local police station, but the only response was 'I do not advise you to use one!' Is there anyone out there - Police - soliciter - barrister - who can tell me 1) are they legal 2) would I be commiting an offence, if I used one to identify bandits who are attacking my boat 3) what is the offence As I have said before, I do not want to harm the little darlings (the guns must be safe if they are available to hire to the general public) just identify them, & perhaps let their parents know when they come home with red or yellow clothing PS it washes out easily
  5. I know it's not what you're after, but you might have more chance with a riverside cabin, & hire a sailing dinghy (or 2) Hoseasons & Blakes hire on the Broads
  6. So Rusty Duck is bolted to his bike & can't put his feet down or else he would fall off! This must be akin to driving a car without brakes, & should be illegal. Go faster goodies are Ok for race tracks, but not where the public are. Is this why cyclists ignore road signs, traffic lights etc. If they stop, they fall off Ban these gizmos where they might endanger the public
  7. Interesting to read this thread, together with news in Narrow Boat World, thet BW are looking for investors to create another 700 moorings. Seems that here is one already made, but BW are trying to close it. I know we must follow planning laws (ask Howard), but surely BW should be pulling out all stops to help make this a success
  8. Thanks for so much info in such a short time A bit more info about me:- about to retire, live in Christchurch & sail a small dinghy in the summer, also spend time with allotment & walking dog - so 3-4 weeks on NB sufficient, completely useless with anything practical - if you can't program it I am lost I can see from replies that there are several companies selling part ownerships I know of challengershare.com & Ownerships. Are there any others Many thanks
  9. After going to the Boat Show, I am considering part ownership of a narrow boat. (It's all I can afford at the moment) Has anyone any experience of this? What are the pitfalls, what do I look out for, how much should the annual costs be, are there any horror stories? The glossy brochures give me all of the benefits, but I need both sides of the story. Any advice gratefully received
