  1. Fitted this lockable cap, very good and looks good for a good price. Any problems and you can ring them. http://tinyurl.com/q54svws Stainless steel fuel filler 38mm pipe £44.
  2. MtB... That sounds like a reasonable reason, too greater flow. I think by opening up the calorifier though at the moment would not help as there would be no heat transfer as it is empty but I will give your other suggestion a go. Thanks for your help.
  3. Filled the system first to make sure there were no leaks, Drained down completely and measured the quantity, Mixed the correct amount and filled the system. Had about a pint left over.
  4. I'll try to balance first and if not successful look at your idea, but I have only just filled the system with an antifreeze mix. I have a Vax so can save the mixture.
  5. At present the TRVs are in the fully open position, I do not have the free space to fit anymore radiators. I have the calorifier isolated as I have drained down the domestic system for winter.
  6. I fitted TRVs on two of the radiators, not on the single panelled bathroom one. The TRVs can be fitted to inlet or outlet. Normal lockshield valve on the outlet.
  7. Hi GoodGurl. Thanks for the advice. I think my next course of action is to do as you say, only leave one radiator open and when hot work my way through one at a time. We are not a liveaboard so next time I'm on the boat I'll give it ago. Would it be an option to put a small circ pump in the system although it shouldn't need it.
  8. The bottom half of the radiator is roasting so according to my physics hot water rises!! Which has you say would point to an airlock in the radiator but I have plenty of water coming out of the bleed screws.
  9. I replaced all radiators, two single pannelled and one double, total output of about 3.5kw.
  10. Hi The pump is integral with the heater, I have bled the pump, and the pump/heater runs until the temp is up.approx 15 mins and then goes into idle for a while before going up to full power again when the temp drops. The Eberspatcher has been checked out in the last few months and tested.
  11. I have a 55ft narrowboat with three new radiators. I have bled all the radiators but the top half is staying cold, initially I thought they might be air locked but this does not seem to be the case. I have flushed the lines through and as stated new radiators are fitted which are pretty well the same size and output of the old ones. The header tank is a good meter above the top of the radiators and at the moment I have the branch isolated to the calorifier. Any ideas wellcome
  12. How many hours would you recommend? Talking to the engineer who does the hire boats in our marina they take them out yearly. I have a company in stockport that does them for about £30 each.
  13. I have 4000Hrs on them, no excessive smoke except when I leave a lock, so I thought I'd just give them a check.
