hmmmm on closer inspection it became apparent that my set up is somewhat "different" to the norm and uses a cable that no-one seems to have seen before ... i have scoured tinternet, chandlers, couple boatyards and a commercial vehicle place .... and seems more sensible to modify my set up to accept a universal morse replacement, which requires an additional bracket and some chin scratching ... till then i am running on a new universal cable and a tidy bodge of wire, cable ties (hurrah for cable ties ) and a small spanner, and don't really need to be anywhere, and procured some more satisfactory clamps to modify the bodge tomorrow ... but I now have better understanding of my boat ... and, although i was a largely unsuccessful Girl Guide ... I will be prepared next time .... bunny

about equidistant between the two both closed this eve, quite rightly. Have a cable sorted for Monday, and have had lots offers of help on here THANKYOU what a great forum this is it sheared right at end near stop plate, and probably just enough thread to effect temporary repair if I need to move

yep .... cable broken ... and no, i don't carry a spare .... but i will from now on and of course it is sunday tomorrow thank you

Just set off and seem to only have reverse gear ..... shaft spinning madly in neutral .... no funny noises or clunks ... does anyone have any useful suggestions while I am gathering my thoughts and having a nice cup of tea ....

Partially cleared by some people on a hire boat ..... you can get through now .... no sign of BW/CaRT when I went through just now. and thanks to the people who secured my boat for me

there is a fallen tree blocking the canal between Hopwas Wood Bridge and Tamhorn Park bridge BW / CaRT informed and are "busy with floods" but will be out within an hour ....
