We seem to have a new canal engineer though, anyone else heard of John Brindley, maybe James twin?
I noticed that.

I see the new boom is in place, I wasn't quite sure where it was exactly going. Been put in to stop the rubbish collecting outside the mail box.

Could make Gosty tunnel even slower going.

I'm sure I've seen this boat on a towpath mooring on the Oxford but if not there is another one about with a similar flue arrangement.

A bit late to the party but the freshly repainted 'Red Wharf' and crew will be pushing for that much coveted and hotly contested second last position.
😀
Posted the entry form yesterday.
See you in May.
A bit of careful boating through Gosty Hill.

Usually you need a marine exhaust and make sure any fuel hoses comply with the BSS (this ignores any RCD/RCR requirements).
Then make sure the cut-out voltage is a bit lower than for vehicle or static use, otherwise you may have starting problems in the mornings
Wouldn't it be connected to the leisure batteries so starter battery wouldn't be drained by running the heater...?

Hopefully going to be finished in time for Tipton Festival in September.

Ain’t it lovely to know Turner took time to visit Tipton
I guess Turner painted it and it must be hanging in Liverpool given your earlier reference to the Mersey.

Didn’t someone on here say it’ll be an incinerator?
That was what I heard it was going to be.

minworth top lock for the night
Not a location I would choose to stop overnight.

There is always plenty of activity around there on weekends, the paddle boats are far more of a pain than the wide beam.

Yes, well done Turner’s.
Did you look it up?I thought that was where you were referring to but did double check it was that bridge.

I get an error on vnc.

Are only issue last year was the lock closure on the T&M, we had been up on the Montgomery and were deciding which way to head back to Great Haywood when we got the stoppage notice so that made the decision for us. Didn't impact our cruising or change how many days we were out boating, in fact we stayed out longer as I worked from the boat instead of going back to the office because we met up with some friends unexpectedly in Penkridge.

Thought it was quite a negative survey.

The Cotswold Canal Trust have built and restored locks recently.

Fradley tap outside the cafe is extremely slow, usually enough time to order and eat breakfast whilst waiting for the tank to fill.

As it happens I need to buy some red paint over the next few days so I can spruce things up before Easter.
I’ll may just have to settle for what I can get if I can’t order in time. I’m sure the last pot of paint I had was Johnstone’s post Office Red.
What would you recommend for an ‘off’ white? I had Johnstone’s ‘Antique’ white last time.
Now I have no car, I can’t easily pop off to Johnstone’s like I used to. I’ll be changing over to what’s commonly available from yards and wharfs.
I see Toplac about a lot, is that any good?We have Symphony Paints Off White, it is quite creamy though.
You can walk to Symphony Paints from the canal around Birmingham, not sure exactly where the best stopping place is though. Or if you are around Penkridge, Park Gate have a wide choice of paint brands.

We have Symphony Paints Ferrari red so we can go faster.

We use an inverter for powering our router, TV, media streamer, laptop, phone\tablet chargers, hairdryer and DAB radio as it is easier to just plug those things in with the supplied cable. I do switch the laptop charger on and off throughout the day though to preserve the laptop battery.
Having solar installed made a massive difference and enables us to go throughout the summer only running the engine to move the boat.
I do use gas for the kettle and for making toast though.

Roach may be in the Birmingham area.
Tonic required. Send in your photos of what is nice on the waterways now.

Building started again not that long ago, the rings are along from Rotton Park junction.
