  1. Must admit they are noisy. However if it is possible to run from a genny its the easiest way. I can moor well away from any boaters.
  2. I have used a hired refina scabbler [1500W] many times in a paint tunnel with mains power. Has anyone used one along the towpath using a generator?
  3. Daresay this one is that age, thanks.
  4. I know the increase is not a huge amount but i live very frugally. At the moment every little bit helps. Im still undecided whether to cruise or stay put. Have to see if work picks up a little. However its not just money,i do miss travelling . If i decide to stay put i must get the old tug out more lol.
  5. Still to find one that is 100% to go. It is on my do list lol.
  6. Still to try it but it is a bit gutless lol.
  7. I will try connecting to a 12v batt and see what happens.
  8. Paul G2. Thank you for the very useful advice. Perfectly written from a painters point of view. I could envisage the work as i was reading lol. Appreciate your time and effort.
  9. Havent decided on the paint yet. Harrison rollers? Are they foam or mohair. Assume as there are 2 of you they are 4" ? Like to do this on my own if possible. I know i can paint it ok,but the finish is obviously important, which means speed of application is important.
  10. I have painted 15 or so narrowboats completely and 50 or so partially. Although i can paint a roof alone it is far better to have 2 people,1 each side. I can use just a brush or roller and brush. However i have never painted a widebeam [12ft] roof. If you have to work outside, how the hell do you keep the edge wet lol. I assume a 7/9" roller and 4"+ brush and maybe an extension handle. Has anyone any tips or should i learn the hard way lol. I may section the roof off but my friend just wants a single colour.
  11. Well there was me giving you guys the benefit of the doubt.
  12. I said supply 80A in 24 hours ...not for 24 hours i dont own a gin palace. I can understand the confusion, but my way works fine for me lol.
  13. All that fuss because i didnt say 36AH. If that was all that niggled you why didnt you say in the first place? I took it for granted you knew what i was talking about. Picky ,picky .
  14. Who makes quality inverters? I will be needing one soon. Have gooled but who do you believe lol.
  15. Im on the K & A near Devizes, what is your present position?
  16. Try dividing by 24 lol. Thats got nothing to do with it. Its simple. Audit How much current does an appliance draw, the load. If the appliance is run for 1 hour you have the hourly load, multiply by 24 the daily load etc. So a fridge requires 6A. But it only runs for 15 mins /hour. So it uses 1.5 A per hour x 24 =36A. It has drawn 36A in a day.
  17. This started because i stated my kit draws 80A in a day. It does? What is wrong with that ? Must be your bedtime?
  18. Why dont you google the term "Ampere" and find out for yourself. Its not rocket science.
  19. I know what an ampere is,i assume you dont. You have just proved what a complete idiot you are, well done.
  20. Hang on fell asleep, did you say something. Had a look.......nah you didnt.
