  2. Been working nr Whitehaven today, so went for a break and a brew at St Bees, sunshine, sparkly waves, strong breeze off the sea, high tide, viewed from the soft grassy bank above the promenade. Drove home through the mountains, going by eskdale station I spied a huge bird wheeling above, stopped and got out the binoculars, A Golden Eagle! 2m wingspan, gliding about above.   3. Spotted a Wheatear today at Gordale Scar, too slow on the draw with the camera! Name is a corruption of White Arse, obvious when you see it flying away.

  7. Walking up from Summit to watch Tour De France, up to Cows Head Quarry, round the track to Byron's edge, Turvin Rd, thousands of people lining the road waiting, then it's all over in a few minutes as the breakaway group and peleton whiz by.

  12. Grand trip to Llyn Gwynant campsite, canoeing, walked up snowdon from Pen y Pass up the Pyg track and back via Miners track. Mea and Jess toasting bacon and tortillas round their campfire after the walk.

  15. Wedding anniversary today 27 yrs. Walked over Arnside Knot to Arnside and back with Liz and Darren. Noreen has just done a mile in the pool. Natasha Rushyy and Beth Griffin have been zumba dancing in the pool with Tom Mottram and Ben Mottram.

  16. Off too Holgates, Silverdale with the caravan meeting all the family up there. If any of the "responsible adults" hahaha, already up there would care to give us a ring before we set off if you need anything, or if I need to bring a sleeping mat for Mea?

  17. Message for Natasha Kay Rushyy and Beth Jade Griffin Tom Mottram Ben Mottram, we have booked onto holgates for 3 nights, Saturday, Sunday, Monday nights. Cos it's marmies birthday on Saturday and our 27th wedding anniversary on the 26th you can all wait on us hand and foot, that will make a change! Brew in the morning, meals and snacks all day beer, wine then cocoa at night, tuck us in and sing us to sleep. That will prove what grand children you are. I'll bet all my friends agree and like this!
