Walking up out of the mist on top of Reddyshore Scout, picnic at top of the old pack horse track to Bottomley, dog mithering us to finish our brew at Summit quarry.

In a local hotel, where there was a meeting about to start of the national Chess Association. Members were recounting their past triumphs and bragging how quickly they finished off the opposition. After twenty minutes of listening to this the concierge burst into song,"Chess Nuts boasting in an open foyer"!!! Merry Christmas

Facebook is slow at the moment, stuff has refused to upload, other times my comments have appeared 3 or 4 times. Grrrr!

A quick evening trot to Pasture House Farm and back via Summit. Amazing old gateposts on the lane below Pasture House, cups on one side, "L" shaped slots on the other, to take round poles. Cuddly cows and a black Swan too.

Collected, Cut and split over a tonne of logs this weekend. The rest of the wood will take a couple of days, but there's enough for winter.

Just been for a 3 mile walk to Chelburn Upper Reservoir. Warmest Halloween on record. Lovely

Took Stella Cairns over the old Road by Reddyshore, in the car. Going for a trip on the boat after lunch.

Lick of paint on the boat, prior to setting off to Lancashire, maybe Albert Dock, Liverpool and or Tarleton, via Manchester and Wigan.

Off to Rochdale Town Hall shortly to Abseil down the clocktower, any more last minute sponsors? come on , I'm risking my neck here! In wind and rain and, the hazard of the Peregrine Falcons. Yesterday, as I arrived to set up for Skylight Circus performance I heard the skreek of a raptor overhead, looked up to see a peregrine flying back to it's nest near the clock, with a pigeon in it's talons. Peregrines protect their young, they have sharp talons and beaks, oo err!
