  1. When Brenda and I purchased Jannock part of the reason we chose an ex-hire boat was that we envisaged that both sons would grow up, leave home and want to borrow it. They have both done all of those things but we still stick to strict rules. Every crew member they take along has to attend a days training with us so that they know what to do if son/captain is taken ill or similarly incapacitated. A damage deposit is taken before they borrow it and we expect it to be cleaner when returned that when they take it over. Seems to work quite well so far. Graham www.jannock.org.uk
  2. I use two Amperor regulators on Jannock, one for the telly and digi-box and the other to provide a 12V input for an HP PC. I know they work well because neither the telly or PC turn off now when the loo is flushed ;^) On testing the Amperor input voltage could go down below 10.5 Volts before the output moved from 12Volts. A great bit of kit. Graham www.jannock.org.uk
  3. I had a similar noise on Jannock that was driving me mad. Tried increasing the tick-over revs (as per PRM 160 manual) replacing the driveplate and servicing the Aquadrive but it still occured. It didn't damage the drive plate though. No colouring to the oil either. I got a spare engine/gearbox lump of Ebay and fitted the smaller gearbox (old equivalent to the PRM120) with spacers and the noise has gone completely and tick-over is now useable again for manoeuvring. I have the PRM160 ready to take apart as it appeared that the output shaft bearing had a lot of play in it when I took the gearbox out. Graham www.jannock.org.uk
