  1. Thank you all for your words .. Hunting a solution is still very much in progress. I really don't want to move the stove unless totally bullied into it by the regs (Guidance) A solution might be to fit a smaller stove and refurb the hearth ! Thank you again Andy
  2. Hi Rob Can I ask what stove that is at all ..... Just to compare sizes as an idea etc Andy
  3. Well After 14 Years service the time has come to replace my Stove The Boat yard have stated :- " The existing stove is currently fitted in the front starboard corner of the cabin and is very close to combustible materials (the step). It is also fitted with a steel flue pipe and on a stone hearth without an air gap between giving no thermal barrier. If you were to fit a new stove, the new stove would need to be fitted to manufactures regulations which states that the flue should be a double insulated type and also the hearth would need to be remade as listed in the documents above. The issue with the new regulations is that the suggested distances from combustible materials which makes it impossible to achieve on the forward bulkhead." A fair bit of the above is true .... But if I replace like for like, any advise on the BSS Viewpoint ?..... It passed a BSS earlier this year as is ? I do admit the steps are close ..... The Hearth is wood..... Double insulated flue is a new one ?? Anyhow the yard quoted £3K to relocate the stove in middle of boat ...... Just looking for other options . OR Does anyone recommended a stove fitter in Nantwich (SU) area ?? Thank you for reading Andy
  4. Hi Thank You reading I'm looking for a replacement pressure cap for my Webasto Thermo top C header tank .... Went over the side before I bought the boat ...Honest.... ? No joy on eBay ...just the whole thing for £99.00 Any after sales equivalent that will fit ?? Thank you again Andy
  5. Hi thank you for reading Any one got any suggestions for a plumber that can sort radiator issues in Church Minshull area One rad not working.... - Blocked valve ? Full drain / refill I have done it before..... but did not work out to well :-) Andy
  6. Hi all. Thank you for your replies..... It does seem to me that my guess figures seem to be about right :- Absorption Volt Charging = 14.6v Float Volt Charging = 13.5v All caused from my chasing an alternator fault on a reasonably sunny day and reading 14.4v on batteries making someone better versed than me suggest to check the Solar controller..... Just need to work out the panel buttons again now :-) Thank you again Andy
  7. Hi All Just a quick one as lots of conflicting information out there. Am revisiting my Solar MPPT regulator in the belief the Absorption and Float voltage settings are incorrect, I have maint free lead acids Numax XV31MF. My question is what should the Absorption and Float Charging voltages be. Absorption Volt Charging = 14.6v ?? Float Volt Charging = 13.5v ?? Thank you for reading Andy
  8. So just link each alternater straight to batteries. I should comment the rev counter isn't working either.... That comes from alternator too I think ?? Andy
  9. Hi All My Sterling AB12160 has stopped charging my batteries..... Or so it seems. No LEDS are on. No voltage detected on the ALT input Now the issue is the 2 x 80Amp Alternators are wired in to the A2B together to get 160Amps Could it possibly be one alternator failed a whilst ago and I didn't notice...... Now the second one has failed I have lost everything. Anybody any experience of this or similar? Thank you for reading Andy
  10. Hi If that is the case the grub screws aren't anywhere near close. I am thinking now they are there just to adjust the slack on the tiller. I can liken the scenario to a M10 bolt in a M16 Nut if that makes sense Andy
  11. Hi Steve So the grub screws should be tight onto the shaft ? BR Andy
  12. Ok . So today nipped up both the grub screws as found hiding under the grease. Still a fair bit of play left though.... How tight should they be on the inner shaft ..... It looks to me as if they have never butted up tight. That is assuming they should be ?? Andy
  13. I hope the grub screws will sort the issue. 10 years of owning the boat was not aware of them at all. Always learning :-) Thank you again all Andy
  14. Looking for someone to start this off.....
  15. Just read about the grub screws on another post..... Will nip them up at weekend. Thank you
  16. Hi all Just wondering if anybody could advise on my possible rudderstock bearing issue.... I think it has failed, lots of side movement, very rattly on move, water coming through it when on load. Am guessing needs to be replaced..... but anything better than standard steel bearings ? Grease often ? Any suggestions on keeping water out.... Splash cover ? What ball park cost am I looking at ..... Will it be better to live with it till boat out of water later in year for blacking if can ? BR Thank you for reading Andy
  17. They are a Joke ....let's hope our solicitors can sort out some of the chaos for us
  18. Hi Steve You got me ! We really don't know what their end game is... The favourite theory at the moment is they want to backfill and make it into another caravan park. We thought about new short term moorers making them more monies but Tattenhall is not on a cruising route, so no value there really ? Who knows ....But certainly is a lot emptier than I remember this time previous years , Huge congratulations to all concerned :-)
  19. I think the jist is there..... I forgot about it being a closed group :-)
  20. Well we have moved on.... Best part of 8-9 years spent at Tattenhall, most of it happy, The very recent management changes are tearing the place apart, just recently 18 boats left just from one jetty. They have done a U-Turn on the dog ban. But it is far too little too late, their recent lack of consultation with the moorers over significant changes, not to mention the attitude of the acting manager are doing them no favours whatsoever. To anybody thinking of mooring there or even just passing though ..... Just have a long think about it first. Andy
  21. Not if they got any sense..... Move on by. Not a happy Marina at all !
  22. The point here is regardless of my ranting (sic). Tattenhall management did not on any count tell us moorers that this was happening or planned. That seems in contrast to be a well written informative document, Maybe we should let Lakeland see it as an example ! Thank you
  23. First of all apologies for resurrecting an old thread ..... Shoot me if you want. Does anybody here have any comment to add to the current situation at Tattenhall Marina , There seems to be a new management philosophy whereby they do seem to think it is acceptable to hike the bollard electricity prices up by 50% and then tamper with the meters making a change from 12PPU to 18PPU this after the prepay card has been registered. Additionally they have taken the free lift facility away from the agreed twelve month agreement again without telling anyone. Recently appointed Marina Manager has left... On site cafe prices though the roof ... etc etc Generally there is a lot of unrest and boats moving out..... Just wondering if news has filtered elsewhere at all. Andy
