You have 24 hours (well, 30 hours with a mandatory 6-hour break) to cover as much of the Birmingham Canal Navigations as possible.
As usual you may start from anywhere you like; the finish line this year is at Hawne Basin.
Scoring is adjusted by length of boat, number of crew, difficulty of different canals, and arbitrary bonus challenges revealed on the day. It should be roughly fair for anyone and everything from 20-footers to historic boat pairs, although perhaps not fully loaded.
Obsessive competition is not required - this can be a good excuse to simply cruise around the BCN all day.
If you aren't familiar with the BCN, the Explorer Cruise over the previous week would be a good opportunity to do some reconnaissance!
The additional Trolley Trophy will be awarded to whoever arrives at the finish with the most junk found in the canal.
The final version for this year will be issued to competitors in due course.
