  1. On French canals and rivers it goes into the water , and they swim and have beaches. We were tied up one night and a police car stopped , both policemen got out, peeded into the cut got back in the car and drove off. Tony - Wilderness Beaver Haricot
  2. Wilderness Boats have been around for nearly 40 years and have not heard of any problems due ICE tony - Wilderness boat Haricot
  3. We were all hire boaters once , and if they were not around a lot of the pubs that we all enjoy would now be closed. Tony
  4. We have a Wilderness Beaver trailboat that is powered by an outboard and has some solar panels that keep up topped up fridge and all, if we travel for around five hours a day and turn fridge off overnight. If we stop for a few days than we have power problems or have to run the engine, so looking for a small generator at a low price. The nominations are - Kipor IG1000 £285.00 SDMO INEO 1000 Inverter Generator £275.00 Clarke IG1000 1kW Inverter Generator £286.00 Honda EU10i Petrol Driven Generator £700.00 Yes the Honda is the best but at over double the price of the others!! Opions please Tony - Wilderness boat Haricot
  5. Had mine weiged last year, total weight boat and trailer with dry tanks 2300kg add cloths, food, booze a bike or two you would be looking at over 2500kg , owners tow with a selection of vehicles and not aware of any one with a freelander. I was using a Shogun sport with max towing weight of 2500kg but have now changed to a Discovery with max wight of 3500kg Tony Wilderness boat Hazricot

    Lunch

Had a great three course lunch today for six pounds in the cafe on Heyford Wharf on the Southern Oxford. None of your nasty mass produced stuff. Any more suggestions please Tony - WB Haricot
  7. Having just returned to a Wilderness 23 after a 15 year gap, you cannot beat them Reconsider a Wilderness boat Overnighting at camp sites yes a small ladder makes getting on and off much easier Most camp sites have shower blocks so emptying a shower should not be an option We have been on large waterways such as the Seine in France, no problem apart from being rather small in comparison to the 1000 ton barges that you share locks with The members club http://www.wilderness.org.uk/ Tony - Haricot
  8. Does anyone have any knowledge of the Somme in France (not the war). I am planning next years euro boating Thanks to Neil Arlidge - WB Mini Me who gave me a number of contacts via the Wilderness boat owners club site Many thanks Tony Radstone - WB Haricot
