Champion Fuel Filters

Some kind soul has given me 4 Champion L131 Fuel filters that look like they go in a CAV type filter unit. They are the same size in terms of height and diameter as FRAM C1191PL (I think the Champion equivalent is L137). The L131 has a different construction and has half circle slots in the bottom and what looks like a different paper element inside. It does have the same central hole as the FRAM.

 

Any thoughts or could these be used instead of the FRAM C1191PL?

I have, saved on my works computer, a list of oil and fuel filters which will be compatible with the D3 in the boat... We recently bought some more, and they were Champion L131 filters but with a sticker on them with C1191PL printed on. So therefore, I'm guessing they are the same.

They both cross reference to the same Mann filter Mann Filters so they should be fine, hth, Dave

Thanks chaps. It certainly looks like the will do then for my filter. Excellent! It always makes my day when I can get something useful for free and these filters should keep me going for a while.
