K&A Breach at Midgham

Featured Posts

Sunday 22-July-2007

This afternoon a breach on the Kennet and Avon was reported on the offside (north) bank of the canal, approximately 300 yards west of Midgham Lock. :smiley_offtopic:

The canal is currently closed to navigation between Midgham Lock (92) and Colthrop lock(91) which are both padlocked, and the water level at 7pm tonight was at least 12 inches down, and dropping. The field to the north between the canal and railway is well underwater, but its difficult to see where the flood waters from Friday stop and the leakage from the canal starts as this area was very badly hit by flash floods on Friday.
