Buying a narrowboat without a hull survey

Obviously, someone else took it

This is the problem.

There are four Liverpool narrowboats from 2006 listed on Apollo Duck right now, excluding the tiny one. The only one for less than 40k is sold, and whilst the vendors asking for 52 and 57k might not get their asking price, they're probably also not settling for less than 45k. They might not be desperate to get rid of it without the buyer taking a survey though...

When I looked in the summer there were several more around that age in the 43-48k range. Presumably all of these have sold and most of them not at much discount. So it's certainly not unusual to ask for that for a 2006 Liverpool boat, or ~40k for an older boat in good condition, even though yes, that's more than they cost new and other builders have better reputations.
