Weeks holiday starting at Alvecote

Hello, you probably get these sort of requests quite often but here goes anyway.

 

I'm relatively new to this, having only been on one boating holiday before around Aversham to Stratford e.t.c

 

Attempting it this year, we are starting out at Alvecote but are not sure on the best way to go from there. Being slightly new to this game, we don't want anything to heavy, a nice leisurely route whereby we're not going to be affected by too many obstacles, but at the same time visiting some nice towns, with nice pubs and different things to do.

 

it's 1 week and any help on mooring spots and routing would be muchb appreciated!
