jeb
Hi all, I have been looking at chimney collars and have noticed that they are made out of steel or cast iron, is there any benefit from using one or the other ?
Gary Peacock
The cast iron ones are sometimes a bit nasty to fit, ideally a steel one fabricated to fit is better but obviously more involved. We get asked to fabricate a lot of flues and collars but unfortunately a lot of peoples measuring and drawing skills don't match the skills of the chaps who fabricate them and they end up being done and redone to death! (A lot better to take the boat rather than a drawing )
