The River Gipping Trust was formed a few years ago by members of Ipswich branch of the Inland Waterways Association.

 

Our website explains the history of the Stowmarket Navigation and how the River Gipping was used to create the Navigation in 1793.

 

We in the Trust have several aims but perhaps the most important is to try and restore some or all of the historic structures in order to put boats back on the river.

 

We are short of navigable waterways in East Anglia so one more would be quite useful!
