Starter motor problems

The starter motor on my 4LK does not like working when hot, you get a clunk wizzz noise this will happen several times before it finaly engage. It works well when cold. Any ideas.

Common fault with the CAV BS5 starter. Best answer is to get it serviced by someone who still understands them.

Thank you Andy, will drop in there on the way to work. Hope this wont cost,as we are saving to go to the Isle of Man TT next year and the boat still needs loads off work. Oh well, will have to start doing overtime
