Booked for April 2010

Well call us indecisive but having booked April 7 nights for the broads next year we have after much deliberation changed it today (with no financial loss which is good - thank-you Hoseasons) to 14 days out of Napton Narrowboats.

The big challenge for us next year will be it will just be the 2 of us (no locking/bridge team  - to help this time). The main reason for the holiday will therefore be to asses how well we manage on our own before making a final decision to buy.

We also generally agree between us that the cut has the edge over the broads with generally more to do/see and the ease with which you can keep essential provisions like wine, beer and Gin/Vodka oh and of course food topped up. . It seems just that little bit harder and more expensive on the broads due to the lack of general proximity to the likes of Tesco/Morrisons/Sainsbury's.

As we are out for 14 days we would welcome views on a circular route out and back to Napton. Ideally one that is not a marathon but rather lets us 'grow' our 2 person locking and bridge experience.

Any other advice anybody can offer also very welcome.

Well, I would head of towards The Bridge at Napton and moor there. It's a lot drier than two weeks around the system. If you get bored with their menu, you can always do the Napton flight and then come back down. That will give you an insight and an appetite!

Have fun!!!
