Can anyone tell me of any farmland type of moorings on the GU, Hertfordshire area please. The are not needed at the moment but any contacts would be good to make some enquiries. Thanks.

Not many at all and most with waiting lists. You might be better off looking further north in Bucks or Beds. There are moorings up at Seabrook but don't think they are necessarily residential. Same at Horton although I've always found the smell of cowshed there rather strong. In Herts you've got BW moorings and a non BW marina at Cowroast. There's the Anchor Boat Club at Bourne End. Then further south in Boxmoor you've got moorings operated by the Boxmoor Trust. Best of luck.
