Moorings in Manchester

Anyone know of any safe mooring spots in Manchester City Centre or within close proximity for residential boaters??

Thanks...

Does the term "Rocking Horse Dung" sufficiently sum up the answer.

City Centre residential moorings are near impossible to get.

Moorings 20 minutes by train from the City Centre where a blind eye would be turned to residential use are more plentiful.

I can think of a few sites close to me that you might get in at.

Do you want cheap and safe or nice surroundings and safe?

Thanks.

I understand there is a newly or nearly completed residential marina around the Old Trafford area on the Bridgewater, but very expensive. (in Manchester terms)

This is Stretford Marina and I believe there are only one or two moorings left now. There are about 10 narrowboats and 3 grp cruisers; a couple of liveaboards there and a couple of people fitting out their sailaways. The marina is fairly secure with fob activated access. There is water, electric hook up, elsan disposal, toilets and shower but so far no-one is operating the marina to provide chandlery, diesel, gas etc. Mike Webb at Peel Holdings is the person to ask about fees 0161 629 8200, which I think are reasonable for a marina, probably because facilities are limited at the moment.
