Hi - Can anybody tell me if CoverIt (Cratch Covers) are still going. As have tried calling them but no reply and their website is not available. I don't want to just turn up and find out they are no longer there but desperately need a zip repairing.

I am thinking of getting a Victron Centaur 60amp 12v charger for a battery bank which has 6no Trojan 6v batteries arranged so that they are producing 12v and have 675AH at 12v. Will my 1Kw gennie be able to handle the loads required to run the charger? I am not entirely sure how to work out the loading....and I could not find this info on Victron website. I have solar power as well but want to make sure that if I get stuck and batteries need topping up, then I can with current generator... Thanks in advance!

Hi, I'm new to the forum, I've just bought a 25' river cruiser project but it's out the water in Hockley, Essex. It's a couple of tonnes so I need a four wheel trailer and 4x4 to tow it, oh and a person with both those things that can move it for me for a reasonable amount of money would be amazing! I'm on such a tight budget and the costs are spiralling with this, I need to move on board ASAP Any help or advice would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance Sid

I've got a problem with the calorifier relief valve lifting. I also have a Rinnai LPG instantaneous water heater with a 3 way valve to change from engine heat when cruising to LPG when moored for a while. Recently the calorifier relief valve lifts when we select and fire the LPG boiler. If I switch off the hot water pump the relief valve seats. Could I have an internal leak on the calorifier? Any advice would be gratefully received. Make the most this weather! Botski.

Hello, my boat is sinking! Stern gland issues, it needs to come out of the water to be completely re done but I can't run the engine to get it to Stanstead Abbots. If anyone is headed out from London in that direction and can tow it, I can pay some money. Pretty desperate on this and need to get it there before the weekend. Even if can only do part way would appreciate it so much! Thanks, Beth

Hello everyone I'm new to this, so forgive me if I'm in the wrong place! I need advice. My family own a field by the river, and we've had people mooring up there for ever (well, all of my life and I'm 40, and dad can't remember a time they wasn't boats either) So, we don't charge much and we leave people to get on with whatever they want to get on with, live and let live and all that. We take good care of the land, keep the willows safe and the gate and drive good. We rent out mooring, not as a residential mooring, but like I say, we don't interfere with the boat people, some have made little allotments next to their boats, some have a little shed. Everything has been fine until this week. We get a letter saying we have had breeched planning permission and changed the use of the land? (It's been like this for 60 years at least) Saying we could face fines and wanting to know lots of info on what happening on the land. So, what's the law on this? How long can people stay on their boats a year? Can I make them residential moorings or is that an expensive can or worms? As a land owner do I have a say on what I want to happen? Any advice will be gratefully received, I want the people who have their boats to be able to continue to do as they wish with their boats. Rare x
