As long as you are considerate then there's no problem. Some of my best boating has been at night. Get someone else steering and sit up front beside the headlight and enjoy the bats inches from your face.

I find that it can be better to use the work boat as a lock landing, no chance of running aground by the bank.

All answers appreciated. I just want to make sure that our efforts create the best most realistic results. Which boats to you knowledge are the best example of a motor and butty in these colours.

Laurance I was looking for exactly what's on your list. The bulls bridge layout/ colours. I believe that was how Banstead was painted in The Bargee? Do you have any RAL numbers for the paint colours?

We decided to re paint both boats over the summer! Can anyone please help with the right BW colours. The yellow I currently have is a bit orange. I would appreciate any help.

Pair of kingfishers near our mooring. Love to see the red kites overhead. And while in Wales, not on the boat, an adder making its way up a sand dune.

No way near enough. We have a 3000w victron and the washing machine calls for additional power during its cycle, either generator or engine.

Our boat only had a solid fuel range when we bought it, I fitted a gas cooker pretty quickly as didn't want a Rayburn lit all year around. We light the boatmans stove to dry washing, also to burn old paperwork.

They do this every year, we see them here on London's outskirts, some looking like they wish they had never taken part! Fair play to them, we always qive them a cheer and tell they that they only have another 25 miles to go!

Frightening. Glad you're now safe. Happened once to us on the Slough arm. A 4 and 6 year old! Called the police said where we were and they said that it happens all the time!

Not like Australia has, rabbits are taking over, what can we do? Let's introduce foxes! Also cats, pythons and all manner of other things, read Bill Brysons Down Under to see the full extent.Perhaps they will help keep the mink dumbers down?
We have really screwed up the biodiversity of our land!
You wouldn't want to stop and let the boat cat off there though?

Apsley marina, BWML run. Is probably your best bet to start with, then you can look around the area. Don't fall for the buying a boat on a residential mooring though, this will artificially inflate its price.
