  1. Hi Guys and gals Please settle a small argument between myself and my wife. One of us says that turning the fridge up or down lowers the temp in the ice box. the other one says that it makes no differance to the coldness which way you turn it. The other one also says that the control knob has no connection with the ice box at all as it only has one setting. The fridge is only 12 volt (no gas or mains power functions) the only name i can find on the fridge to identify it is would you believe is "The fridge" amazing eh!! I will let you know which one i am depending on your answers...hehe. Thanks in advance..........Dave and Diane, NB Urquhart Castle, top end of the Llangollen canal 13th march 2010.
  2. Vannette 7000 cooker with grill lighting problems? Can you help please? I'm having problems with the grill. It lights ok but refuses to stay alight after i release the control knob no matter how long i hold it in. I laid a mirror on the floor of the grill, and noticed that only the front of the element was alight. The thermocouple was on the back of the element.I lit the Gas at the back with a lighter.I then released the control knob and it stayed alight. This worked ok every time,as long as i never used the spark ignitor. So why does just the front of the element light?? Thanks in advance,I'd love some toast soon
  3. Cheers K. I will check out their web site,I have been wondering about the rotating cowl, so i think that is the direction i will go.By the way i have emailed that company in the past with a tech question on the bubble. The answer i got from a lady was "Consult your manual" and that was it!! Is it me??. Dave
  4. Hi All. As you might have noticed it been a bit blowy of late. Which is proving a real problem with my oil fired Bubble Stove. Why does it keep blowing out? When it does the boat gets filled up with acrid white diesel smoke/vapour which is choking and life threatening. When this happens we have to open all the doors and windows to get rid of it, with every smoke alarm going off and taking all the heat out of the boat with it. Then we have to let the fire cool down completly for at least half an hour before trying to relight it again. Can anyone point me in the right direction to cure this problem.I have a chimney which is about 18" height with the normal chinamans cowel on top.I recently replaced the glass fibre rope around the door.I have to sort this out soon as we are living aboard the boat through out the winter Dave ..........desperate!!
  5. Hi,I feel i have to add my ten penneth worth regarding Chainsaw damage. Oh how i wished i had taken pics of the damage to the hedge near to where we were moored which was opposite Crack hill on the Grand Union. The hedge in question was properly laid and looked realy nice, and had been done at least ten years ago,as the laid wood was about 4" across and must have been 30 ft long. Someone had cut into this living timber with a chainsaw just leaving stumps with huge gaps in the headge. This lovely hedge was now doomed to die. Why do these people do things like this??? Dave
