Ref the whole cart and trustees voting bollocks....
Honestly? You couldn't comprehend the size of the shite I couldn't give.
Either way boaters and canal visitor's will still suffer some way, the same as under the BW Reich

It's 02.13am and I'm at work trying to understand the last lot of posts...........
I think my brain just farted
-
I'd unlock the rifle locker, if close quater hit them with the butt, if they run, shoot them in the back.
I do joke mind and in real life I'd clear out if given the chance. Call the police, they normally get to me quickly and yes, its happened a few times and only in bath so far
-
To the owner of Nb Rebecca,
Your boat is adrift again and the wind is taking it away. If there's anyone in the bath area able to help rescue it give us a shout.
Although its currently making its way past my boat I'm not in a position to catch it, maybe when the boys having his nap but won't be able to do it alone

Ours is IKEA, flat packed and got it in through the side hatch. 2 seater for under 200 pound

Oh dear! this is a very fine forum, but i do get a little tired of condescending finger wagging. I liveaboard on the western K&A and am "reminded" by any number of (alterniative) boaters that liverboard boating can be a very cheap option indeed! It's not the way I would choose but it's certainly possible. I enjoy the diverisity of the cut and dislike the "You shouldn't have a boat unless you're minted" attitude that I sometimes see
I'm grateful for all constructive replies and I take the consensus on this thread to be, that you can indeed use a cheapo car charger, which although not best practice, is a cheap and viable alternative. Is there a little too much smoke and mirrors involved in all the equiptment that we MUST have. I'm reminded of a conversation I once had with the owner of a fishing tackle shop. When I asked him what type of fish a very colourful and hugely expensive lure was designed to catch, he said its not designed to catch fish, its designed to catch anglers!
Where you moored?
I have a 15 amp charger you can borrow to see if it works

I'm fully aware that they hold the mca boatmaster ticket, as do I.
As that boat is now gone I don't feel there will be anymore issues, but one or two incidents were reported.
Why the move anyway?

To be honest, the skippers on the barb mac ain't that bad. The jubilee however was a different story, they always seemed to have a chip on there shoulder
-
I though that, then the wife bought a powerful iron.
We now have a 3.6k........... I hate it
-
Let it cool, bag it and empty said bag in rubbish point
-
One down, just the Barbara mac to go now
-
But quite who you are to say this, I have no idea.
Probably the fact he's a carrier who moves throughout the night on canals and rivers delivering goods. He might have a better idea than most.
I think the point he's trying to make is the standard narrow boat doesn't need colreg kit. Just a low watt lamp up front and MAYBE a small stern light. I move at night mostly and lock and I don't use nav lights unless its on a river.
-
Surely a battery poll doesn't belong in general boating either then?
-
Had a call from my engineer, my injector pumps are on the courier van on their way back, so after 2 weeks of no engine I'll be able to move!
The problem was the seals had gone causing diesel to leak into the sump. What causes this? Is it the new fuel or just age?
The engine is a Isuzu 38, fitted in 2002 and she's a ex-alvechurch boat. I have no idea of hours but I've been changing oil every 4 months min, but every 4 week more recently.
Has anyone else had a problem like this with a Isuzu?
-
Bare in mind its not just RCR who do this service, there is a few yards and sole engineer's who provide one to one tutoring.
I'm sure RCR are great but it may be worth while shopping around

My reply to you was a bit OTT, Cap'n. Apologies.
I shouldn't worry chap, you did hit the nail on the head.
-
Do you know, I don't think I have ever read a sensible post from you? Not one. I'm not saying that there haven't been any, but your batting average is pretty low.
Meh, if I could be bothered id find some links to some. Im not here to participate as such more to observe
I should also of constructed my reply with better grammar but im halve cut so do try to forgive

Good luck guys, wish I could help
-
We're 64' and 18 ton "empty" if that's any help
-
There's loads of people who've offered help ect, but these two always stand out
-
Ok, I'll come clean. It's 10 a hour because I'm making him take it. It's 30 flat rate to anyone else though, that includes engine work, welding, wiring, wood bodging ect.
I'll not post who though as he has too much work!
-
Bugger me, my morco is being fitted at 10 quid per hour and taking 5 hour max!
-
I love the banter between Carl, Dave ect, I also respect their advice and opinions. We can all be arses at somepoint..........
But, if you act the twat then you can expect to get nailed for it. Happened to me and I learnt

I can't find the ignore button on my phone!

I've been told, if you get 3 tickets in 6 months you get tied up in the back of a BW van and get the "angry badger" treatment
