The odd thing is that it has been OK all week.
Our boat has a valve to shut the supply off from the boiler to the calorifier, but that shouldn't make any difference.
Is there a bypass between the outlet of the hot and cold water pumps? A valve that could link the outlets together if a pump failed? If so, is it open?
Richard
Theres a valve towards the floor in the airing cupboard next to where the alde is, thats wide open.
We have to pumps down in the bow locker, only one is doing anything, the other i dont think i've heard working.
I have no idea where to find the coolant ect on the Isuzu engine.
How do i get hot water from the Alde?
-
Central heatings working fine, just no hot water
-
We have very tepid water and the motors been going for atleast 2 hours, its been fine all week as we've been hammering it during the day.
We own a Ex ABC alvechurch with a Alde and calofirer.
Any idea what the problem could be?? The missus is doing her nut
-
It was there fault for capsizing in front of me, i stopped the prop, what more do they want lol,
Boat is a ex ABC group still in there colors, she's 64ft 20tonne with a cruiser stern. Very happy!!!

We picked our boat up last tuesday, cruised down the Avon and back to bath to start CCing, Great little run apart from mowing down another canoist.
We're above Bath top lock now, if you pass the Whimbrel say HI!!
-
I wouldnt ram but if my boat grazed along his while turning then thats hard luck, the plank shouldnt be there
-
I didnt really expect you to go out and do it.
Good luck with the new boat as well
Cheers, gonna be a rush moving on board but looking forward to it

Right up until the point you get sent down for arson
Some people really dont get me, you think i'd post that if i would do it. I would however let my big gay mate bugger him six ways till sunday
Cheers to the people who came back with useful replys, the good news is we get our new boat on tuesday!!!

Is there no way of getting all parties together and sitting around a table face to face to sort this matter out. Legal action is costly and very time consuming.
The wife has legal contacts at work who would do it on the cheap and if all else fails, i'll burn the MD's car

They most probably did. How many brokers crawl around on hand and knee under the floor to check the hull condition of a boat?
Some times it is the best option to meet at some middle ground.
You want the whole of your deposit back, they dont want to give you all of your deposit back, why not meet somewhere in the middle and use the deposit on another boat. They must have something that isnt about to sink.
TBH there service was really poor too, and when the wife rang to say we wernt happy and wanted out, the bloke laughed at her! prat
-
Your fight, but i wouldnt hold out too much hope for the full amount. Maybe do a deal with them and use the deposit on a different craft.
Use them again, ha ha ha ha ha ha Brill

Assuming this was a brokerage boat it is not upto the broker to guarantee the condition of the boat. All they do is act on behalf of the vendor and (if you read the small print on the adverts) they often put a disclaimer to the effect of all information contained in the adverts is believed to be true.
Wasnt asking them to guarantee the condition of the boat. We had a survey, it came back shite. we want our money back as deposit was subjet to survey and
there being arseholes
-
But what makes you say that?
Just that they didnt seem all that intrested in seeling us a boat, didnt know much about it, took there time over things.
Boat was up for.... say 30k
we put offer in of 25k (the boat was a shed inside, very poor fitout)
agreed
Put deposit down got survey.
Survey came back sayin boat was dangerous and in sinking condition (surveyer put a hole in counter floor)
engine in very poor condition ect
Needed 5.000k work work just to make boat safe
and needed about another 5k to refit joists and new floor, deal with roof weilding repaint, repair leaking water system, refit bathroom ect.
Soooo we said we'll give them 20k, vendor said 22k and the marina said this was fair as if the major work was done, ie to make it safe, the boat would
be worth the full asking price. Surveyer has said if ALL work was carried costing around 10k it would be then worth it and that the marina are wrong.
So we hope to have good news soon, i see i'm not the first one to have issues with this place too

They are not all like that however some will state you can have part of your deposit back and they will keep some to cover costs. You do have to be very careful what you sign. It is not unusual that the deposit is non refundable, and it is not unusual for people to not read the T and C's before signing paperwork.
Done checked and checked again, just so happens that this marina is full of wa****s
-
We had the same prob with a well know marina, curantly about to start legal action to get deposit back off them

I just put an offer on a boat at Whilton, thinking that the fact that it is a well-known brokerage would give me some kind of safeguard against naively choosing a crap boat, but the survey I arranged said that the boat was in such dreadful condition it was dangerous, and worth about 1/3 of the price Whilton had put on it. According to the surveyor, anyone who had a clue about boats would have been able to see that this one was a right mess, and he was surprised that it was priced as it was. Apart from this, when we were first negotiating the offer on the boat, there was another boat at the marina with a similar name, and the staff were conveying our offers to the owners of the different boat, despite us spelling out the name. We ended up having made a succesful offer on the wrong boat. I'd love to have heard how they explained that one to the owner. In all, we've had a terrible experience with the place and would hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
Looking like we're gonna have a legal fight with them. woo
Sorry for the misguiding, just wanted some answers with out going "oh we're taken them ect" its just that we've not heard anything good and had nowt but probs

I've no idea but good luck in your search. Hope you find what you're looking for
Cheers chap

hunter of what exactly ? not birds i hope.
i cant understand why cat owners act as if the cats are cuter because they keep bringing other creatures they have killed back home.
if i let a dog out and it kept bringing dead cats home cat loving people would not accept that dogs and cats fight and would complain and say the dog owner needs arresting.
dirty filthy and sly is how i see cats and if i catch the cats that are digging my veg seedling up when they come to soil in my garden , they wont be leaving on foot.
Simple, if i see you near my NB or my cat you wont be leaving on foot as i would of broken them both

Surely if fishing is a sport and my sport is target shooting, if they lob bait at me, i can shot them in the back side with a air pistol??

Had on a while ago on the K&A near Dundas, Hire canoe with a teenage crew came shooting past then came to a dead stop in front of my bow.
I hit them and took the canoe under the prow. I did kill the motor as i didnt want limb's fouling my prop.
I did sink a sea cadet ASC once with a fleet tender, does that count??
Help!!
