Can anyone help me, next year is the first for our boat to be blacked, have booked dry dock, but need to be prepared, how much paint would i need to do our 57ft boat, and is there a prefered blacking paint to use, would apprecieate help

i just assumed it was the sockett. but now i think it is the charger, i have done all you have suggested but still nothing, problem is 2years ago it cost me £212.00 now it would be £402.00 i have been intouch with Merlin they say its because of the US doller, they sugest i send it to them but unless it is obvious they cant repair it, (That sounds good). have you any ideas of a cheaper source

i bought a Merlin Pure Charge 40A 12V charger in 2008. up to 3months ago was working well, charging my 3X batterys. then i noticed it had stopped working, i fiddled around alot and changed the sockett it was pluged into, it worked, 3monthes down the line today, it has stopped working again, my batterys are low, it is the unit that i now know, although i can here a sound inside it happening but thats about all, if anyone has a suggestion what to do i would be gratefull as resorces like the rest of us is very tight, and probably would cost alot to repaire.Or whilst i am having it reparied can anyone suggest an alternative charger that dosnt cost alot.

thanks. yes it is on the boat, Alde says that now it is 1 year old if i needed anything done to the boiler, i would have to pay travel costs, as well as the usual parts and labour, but i am in shropshire and the engineer they send comes from Norfolk. so it was just a thought about an insurance, i would of course seek a nearer engineer when needed.
