  1. But I flush the hose each time and the tank regularly and chlorinate the water- so I'll take my chance- goodness knows where those Rhinos have been and I'm sure urine would be an aquired taste- does anyone know?wink.png

Nobody drinks urine for its exquisite palate...

If you are in a position where no drinking water is available, you'll find that urine is salty, but also live saving.

  2. For the home moored and there was nothing we could do about it? Wrong, two boaters I know of have done something, they've quit our once peaceful waterways and opted for an enforcement free venue. One without Big Brother status.

You miss the point I'm making, but you are also right.

This is one of the reasons why I sold my nb, and have moved.

  3. Of all the places mentioned, Camden has to be the worst, or best. At least the top two locks are fenced but you have your work cut out at the bottom lock getting people to get up and remove their dangling feet from over the lockside.

I nudged the gates when going up, and if possible, opened the gates with the bow..

If having to open the gates by hand, I started opening them regardless of anybody sitting on them.

    They always move..

  4. Sorry to hear of Steve's passing away. All mickey taking apart, he was a crafts man who was part of the broad tapestry that makes the cut. If he doesn't get 'replaced' or his business carried on, it is another nail in the coffin of the canal world as we know it.

  5. I was tempted until found out this-

We have suddenly found that several people who originally volunteered to train as boatmasters have had to withdraw. So we are looking for volunteers willing to be trained. The training to Maritime and Coastguard Agency standards is very demanding and normally expensive. However B&MK will pay the costs, but in return we ask for a commitment of 2 days a month and for 3 years service, plus we ask for a £200 training bond which is returnable after 3 years.

Whilst 3years may look like a long time, they ask for only two days a month commitment. And £200 fkr a boat master's ticket is good value. Go for it.

  6. Thanks for replys. I never thought about. Oil,ice ,etc. do you put any thing on top of comastic.
