  1. Hi the Nell Gwynn is a 45' Narrowboat.
  2. Hi there just thought I would give you an update on how we went on. We took your advice to go to the Factory Junction and set off at 11.00 a.m, later than we had antisipated, headed down the motorway not knowing what time my parents had set off this morning to do the 21 locks. The Sat nav said we would arrive at about 12.40 p.m and sure enough it wasn't much different to that. We pulled in at the Barge & Barrel pub at the factory junction, my DH got out of the car and had a stroll down to the canal to see what was what and i continued to gather my bits and peices togeher. On joining him there was a barge coming up from the direction of the 21 locks so we asked if, upon there travels they had seen my parents boat (Nell Gwynn). They couldn't remember, we tryed to contact them on the phone but there was no replie so I said to DH you go in the pub and get us a couple of drinks and we will wait a while untill we see a couple more boats and we can ask them if they have seen the Nell Gwynn. Just as he was leaving to get the drinks another boat appeared in the distance so I went down to the bridge to get a better view and would you belive it, it was the Nell Gwynn, we had litarally only been there a matter of 7 - 8 minuites in total and there they were. I ran back to my DH and shouted there here, he couldn't belive it, we hid behind the bridge untill the Nell Qwynn came under the bridge my parents were Gob smaked when we jumped out and suprised them. The timing could not have been any better if we had planned it. We all really enjoyed my mum's 77th Birthday it is definatley one they will not forget. By the way they did the 21 locks in 3 Hours 15 mins and all the locks were set against them not bad for 2 old codgers !!! Thanks once again for your help I could not have done it without you and my parents just still cant belive we managed to find them. Regards Foxylady.

  4. I'm not familiar with this area and dont know if you can get near the canal with a vehicle. Ideally I would like to wait somewhere that they had to pass that we could park up and not be in the middle of a city centre where ther is no access for car's etc.
  5. Hi my parents are setting off tomorrow up the 21 locks at wolverhampton they said they then have another 3 sets of locks to go through before they can moor. It is my mums birthday tomorrow and i would like to surprise them but without asking to many questions i dont know where they are going to be and approx how long it will take them. Could any one give me an idea where a good place to maybe have a drink and somthing to eat after they have gone up the 21 locks and may be wait for them passing. Regards Foxylady Sorry if you have already read this post I'm trying to appeal to the wider audiance
