I am about to mount an HA2 on bearers consisting of a 10" pitch pine (maybe) railway sleeper with 2" oak on top, bolted to 100mm x 100m x 6mm steel angle.
so question;
can i use coach screws to mount the engine or should I use through bolts? - obviously only through the wood with a cutout for spanner access.
If coach screws will do the job what size should they be?
I remember once reading about mounting an engine on coach screws that have a threaded portion rather than a hex head and these were to be preferred to coach screws but i can't find that reference. I vaguely remember the reason being it these were more secure. Does anyone have any information or opinion on this? including what the boogers are called?
any positive fixing that can be tightened later- the wood will shrink, coach screws can and will come loose and eventually pull out

On Apolloduck, there is a replica tug for sale.
It is quoted as having a vintage regas engine. Could someone tell me about such an engine?
Many thanks.
riga's were or maybe still are vintage technology but newly manufactured russian engines.

in our experience it is very difficult to keep out a determined thief, the more security you add the mmore damage they do getting in and in general they steal very little when they do get in
