LOL - Great reply Chris! On the subject of cratches our boat has one up front but whilst cruising is generally always up for ease but i think they are still very good and add extra space when its raining if you see what i mean - which you probably don't!

I think that Nicholsons and Pearsons both have their qualities and downcasts - but i still tend to use Nicholsons a lot more for some reason!

Maybe you should go on another holiday before jumping in and buying your own boat - what if you found after a while cruising you dont want to or can't carry on with cruising? In my opinion i would try boating in another part of the country and see how you get on!

Back to the original topic I reccomend those canals in the east midlands ring!! - we've cruised them a couple of times on our boat and we find them nice and rural (in most places anyway)
