  1. Thanks for the replies It all started when i tried to check the brushes I was told to remove the very top yellow cap because I couldn't access the brushes through the side , I still cannot see how to get pass the metal mess there's no clips and it looks as if its attached to the yellow casing. I then did something really stupid , because the top two screws wouldn't budge I decided to drill them out,the screws quickly came away suggesting they are only short but the top cover still wouldn't come off, started to panic. I have since checked other vetus manuals and on some models these screws go all the way through the motor and down to near the tube. Iam now thinking I ve really messed this up , can i rectify this or will i need to replace the motor.I dont think the screws on this model go all the way through the motor as I could see a gap under the hole after drilling Please help any advice gratefully received Are the top screws on some models only used to attach the cover if so will I be able to get away this , also will the bits of the screws inside (if any ) cause any problems Thanks Colin
  2. Agoligies this will have probably been asked before but can the motor ( only ) be replaced on a Vetus bow thruster 75 kgf with the boat in the water(narrowboat ) Thanks Colin
  3. Thanks for the replies Ive checked around the metal mess and I cannot see any clips to help remove the mess to access the carbon brushes it seems to attached to the yellow casing of the thruster , has the design changed or something Many Thanks Colin
  4. Further to my the last reply I can see a side opening on the bow thruster but its got a metal mesh cover round it, I cannot workout how to gain access , any advice Thanks Colin
  5. Thanks for the reply I have looked all around the sides and I cannot see how the brushes come out the sides thats why I tried the top screws on the yellow cover. Will I have caused some damagehaving driled out the top screws bits falling into the gap below etc. Thanks Colin
